    I have been having soooo many problems with my 2006 Ford Freestyle and would love to issue a formal complaint!! Is it too late? This is by far the worst car I have ever owned, and the extraordinarily large numbers of repairs it has needed is outrageous!!!

    The dealer has told me I need the motor mount replaced and the throttle worked on my 2006 Ford freestyle. This is expensive and am told there hasn't been a recall. My brother in-law is a retired engineer from Ford and said this should not have happened. Any advice?

    Until/if a recall is issued, in the meantime you need to try to have them clean your throttle body. Do fuel induction service. about $125-150. From what I have read and understand, the part is expensive ($800-900) and may not be available. It gets clogged and causes the lurching. Without a part redesign, cleaning probably should have been part of the regular maintenance on it. Our car is not lurching now ... Read More

    I just went to the NHTSA website and the throttle body for the 2005 thru 2007 Ford Freestyles is under investigation as of May 11, 2011.     At a certain point, I'd think you could invoke the Lemon Laws in your state (assuming U.S.A; don't know about other places). They vary by state. With the Lemon Laws, Ford buys your vehicle at the retail used car price. After replacing a bunch of sensors and parts over much time, I would think you could do that.     If memory serves.. I believe that Ford went to a 5 yr/60k powertrain warranty on all '07 Freestyles in August 2006. It was made retroactive to all '07s that had already been sold.. and was also applied to all unsold '06 models still on lots at that time.

    I have a 2006 Freestyle and I received a letter from Ford telling me to touch base with my dealer to have my rear breaks looked at; they looked at it and scheduled me for replacement breaks. They replaced all the break hardware in the rear. No issues. Side note, at 45,000 miles, one of the most trouble free vehicle I've owned. :)

    How can anyone say this is "your problem" when so many drivers are replacing rear brake pads every year??? I got my 2006 FS pads/rotors/calipers replaced last year at 27K and was just told this week that they are "dangerously" worn again! I find this inexcusable on the part of Ford. The problem, not the symptom, should be corrected. I did not buy this car "at my own risk."

The Perimeter lighting and the auto-lock ones work on my 07 Freestyle, but the auto-unlock one doesn't honk so I'm assuming it just isn't there.
