Introduced in 2000, the Ford Focus quickly stood out as a small car from a domestic automaker that was truly competitive with the Japanese-brand sedans that traditionally dominated this class. Sharp handling, expressive styling and the availability of multiple body styles all helped make the Focus one of Ford's most popular cars worldwide. Later versions of the Ford Focus have all these same attributes, but offer more features, nicer interior furnishings and better overall quality.

The Ford Focus has been offered with a diverse range of gasoline engines, and there has even been an all-electric version. In reviews, we've been impressed by the car's refined road manners. Handling is sharp, with little body lean in the corners, while the steering is communicative and fairly quick. The ride is firm but well controlled over bumps. Inside, the Focus boasts excellent materials, supportive seats and a hushed environment.
