In the shop as we speak....A.C. COMPRESSOR ORDERED, TO
This is a brand NEW, 2013 Ford Focus SE.
God, why didn't we research??
First were interested in Escape and Fusion,2013 models.
We spoke to General Sales manager, after getting nothing but the company spiel from lease salesman.
Bottom line :
Transmission guy will take a look at Focus on Monday.
We DO NOT want this car.
Ford official stand is all the grinding, rolling backwards, etc is normal...Handles different, drive it 6 months, get used to the car.
The handling, the exterior look, kind of a Sporty look.
Hatchback is big enough for grocery shopping.
The papers we received this morning from the Service Dept. Listing all the normal driving features.... Grinding noise, etc etc.
How about giving those at time of test drive, or before you sign the lease, or buy the car?
Had we known these "normal" features we would have gone with the Fusion.
Per Svc Dept...the Focus AND the Fiesta both have grinding NORMAL noise.
We are a married couple in our early 50's. We've owned or leased 3 Ford F-150's, 2 Ford Explorer, 1 Ford Escape.
Ford CAN do much better.
VERY disappointed, and upset right now. We would never endorse or recommend the Ford Focus.
We just bought the Ford Focus Titanium FIVE days ago and are having the same exact issue. It is definitely NOT normal to have this metal grinding noise when you're going 20mph.I do not recommend this car either. You can view many youtube videos posted by people with the same issue as well as endless threads about this.
