One Bad Tranny after Another :(
By kaelin71 on
2012 Ford Focus SE 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl 5M)
Transmission replaced at 22,000 after Ford sent regional located engineer out to determine problem and provide resolution as reflashing did nothing to eleviate shuddering and crunching/grinding noises of transmission.
Resolution was to put in new transmission.
At 36,000 miles or 14,000 into the new tranny we're experiencing same problem, yet even worse this time around.
I couldn't be more disappointed at this point.
Other than severe transmission issues, I love this car when it problem free.
Ford needs to do better job of testing new technology.
This transmission seems like it's being tested in production and customers are misled to believe problems are just "normal for this kind of transmission".
Google Ford Focus Transmission and you'll find hundreds of complaints on this new model.
Minor shuddering is normal.
Crunching, grinding, severe shuddering and bucking means there's something seriously wrong.
Dealerships aren't helping customers deal with this issue that they sold.
Instead leave it to the customer to get real resolution.
