Transmission bearing failure on my above Focus SE, loaded (4 speed auto). Developed "grunching", whining, and momentary locks-up, and strange shifting behavior last 1000 miles. Bought 2003 Ford Focus in 2004...car had 33K on it.....I also bought an extended warranty. In 2006, I had the transmission fixed under warranty.
