This forum as you can see, was very busy several years ago as I bought my '04 ZTS in Nov. '03. CR had just put the Focus at the top of their list subsequent to my purchase. My decision was motivated substantially on "connecting" with the Ride and Dynamics of the vehicle, this came through clearly on a test drive. Today, 115,000 miles later it still "all there". This is quite ... Read More

Well, I just wanted to offer up an opinion on the 2012 Focus. I have a 2008 Mazda 3 Sport Hatch. Currently at the local Mazda dealer (also a Ford dealer) for an electrical issue covered by warranty... I've had 4 rentals each time the M3 has been there: 2011 Ford Fusion (in my opinion, a piece of ) 2011 Ford Crown Victoria (leathered out cop car) 2011 Mercury Grand Marquis ... Read More

I bought my daughter a 2002 Ford Focus which was diagnosed as being in very good 95K condition. I put new hub bearings on it, new brakes and pads, had the transmission cleaned. She drove over something large that ruined the air conditioning compressor and the serpentine belt. I fixed that $1000. later. Today she was driving on a driveway at 10mph and the car just stopped. The engine turns over ... Read More
Check your battery voltage with the eng running, it should be 14-14.5 Volts Make sure BOTH end of battery cables are clean and tight. Also check red wire at the alt, for any sign of corrosion. Let me know what you find. Cliff
My headlights went out while I was driving down the road and then they came back on, what causes this? Also, my auto door locks and spedomoter will quit working at the same time and then come back on by themselves, what causes this?
I read about the other error messages in the manuel but nothing is said about "CD ERROR>" What do I do to get this things to work.
Sorry Chris, After much frustration I got rid of the car. I loved the car as it was fun to drive and ok on mpg's but she just did' nt treat me right. Good Luck! Oh and by the way, no more Fords for this guy.......
I have the same issue! My two rear windows just make this grinding noise when i press the button, then the window just dropped into the door, and the guy at the ford dealership wanted to charge me $600 to fix it! His terrible attitude didnt help sway me into paying it either
have to say that I'm very pleased overall with my silver 2012 SE hatch with sport pkg, particularly the stick, front seat comfort and great steering feel. No, Touch, Sync or any complaints yet. Of course, the Elantra & Focus had something in common. People in this country generally have been ranking them at the bottom of the food chain -- the inferior compacts below the Civic & Jetta. Well, that's half right. Not a bad percentage for a hitter in baseball. The Focus hasn't been ranked up high for several years, as Ford let the US model languish while the Europeans got the Good ... I heard a horrible clunking sound coming from the front wheel well this morning. The noise definately sounded like a vibration coming from the spring over the strut. Hi i got a 2002 svt ford focus and want to get a supercharger for it,, live in Michigan and need to know where to find and what it cost
Hey Mr. Shiftright, Thanks for all your help here!! Much appreciated!! The "open" could be caused from a "loose" internal connection within the solenoid as well, correct. Maybe our Blue-Oval buddies got a deal on a few million AA's that have a higher-than-normal internal connection failure that doesn't short out to throw the 0750 code with loss of reverse, just the 4th gear neutral thing . Just an idea Dean.
Using the fluid that originally came out of the trans is like reusing your dirty dishwater. It will work but.........I don't do either myself. What's the point... trying to save $15 in fluid?? Hey Keifer, Maybe I missed the post, but did you have your trans scanned before you started?? If so, what codes did it show then?? If it only came back with a 0750 code, then I would have no idea why you would be chasing other codes unless you have a PCM issue. GL DNO
Well don't forget the "jiggle test", and wiggle all the wiring couplers and connectors. You could get lucky here.

That code should mean that you have no 4th gear and no reverse. This code also indicates a circuit fault, not necessarily a solenoid. Could be wiring, too or a PCM fault.
