Build Quality an Issue
By MattrSIU on

Vehicle

2001 Ford Focus ZX3 2dr Hatchback (2.0L 4cyl 5M)

Review

2001, bad year for the Focus. Build quality issues. Simple things like rivets and screws, failing or missing entirely. 36,000 mile warranty not near enough for scary quality issues. Fuel economy is not as advertised. Expect 20-25mpg, not 30+.

Favorite Features

I like the wide tires, and the free coffee mug Ford sent me.

Suggested Improvements

Quality control! Ford skated American manufacturing costs by building in Mexico. But they are missing out on the revolution in American quality control that has taken place over the last 10 years. Toyota and Honda are using American workers and succeding in quality.
