This forum as you can see, was very busy several years ago as I bought my '04 ZTS in Nov. '03. CR had just put the Focus at the top of their list subsequent to my purchase. My decision was motivated substantially on "connecting" with the Ride and Dynamics of the vehicle, this came through clearly on a test drive. Today, 115,000 miles later it still "all there". This is quite ... Read More
We couldn't find what we wanted on any lot, so we ordered our Titanium just after Thanksgiving. It arrived last week. Options: 401A group, Performance package, Blaze Yellow Tri-coat paint and that's it. Price was $24k flat. Ford offered $2000 cash back which brought it down to $22k. Only 200 miles on it so far averaging 31.0 mpg.
Greetings All, Among many other issues with my 2000 Ford Focus, my next issue at hand is my rear defrost and clock. When I press the rear defrost, it makes a clicking noise, and the light momentarily flicks on...but upon release, shuts off. Yeah there's more than one fusible link. Best way is to just trace the wires off the battery post with your finger and look for that "bulge" which is the fusible link. it's either that or a few burned fuses or (gulp) damaged relay/box or wiring harness. I think it's fuses though given how it's acting and what he did.
I did look at all that already. everything is good. Someone told me to look at all the wires coming off the battery. But i am going to go look agian and what you said to check. maybe i over look something. Thanks for the reply Mr Shiftright ;)
First off check the "fusible link" or links which come right off the battery and usually run along the inner fenders. I know there is definity a fusible link in the wire going from the battery to the starter and I'm sure there are others. Also check the regular fuse box in the car.
Some kid in my neighborhood owns a Ford Focus. He was replacing the battery when he put the terminals on the wrong post. Well, decent price is relative. The factory to consumer rebate will be coughed up no matter what since it is no benefit to them not to.
