2006 Ford Five Hundred SE 4dr Sedan (3.0L 6cyl CVT)
I thought it was the best engineered car around...for the money and it's functionality and form. It's simply a beautiful, comfortable, and fun-to-drive car.
Untill the power steering pump, and rack went out at only 30k. $1100.00 ouch! Now, at 57K I'm hearing howling as I drive to work at night.
No, not Halloween warewolves, I wish; wheel (axle), bearing. $360.00 if dearler does the job.
None; all are over-shadowed by early, and recent (premature), problems
Ford should work on and/or pay for quality parts, support their engineering staff, and stand behind their products with a better warranty (e.g. 10 yr., 100,000 mi. pwr. train).
My vehicle is at the Ford shop today. The mechanic(Steve) says nothing is wrong with it. It is doing exactly what you described. I have had three Ford's and this one will be the LAST one. I feel very betrayed by the dealer and the mechanis. Thanks for sharing your info.
