Rugged construction, multiple configurations, competent off-road capabilities, high towing and payload capacities, diesel leads the class in power and fuel economy.

Bought used with only 11000 miles. Now has 36864 on it. Bounces and shakes uncontrolable after hit bumps. Cost $795 to fix rear brakes after they seized up for no reason. Others I've talked with had same problems. Only buy if needing 3/4 ton or large truck. Otherwise I'd stick with Toyota or Nissan.

I was traveling on the I 280 south freeway with my daughter to a soccer tournament in my 2005 F250 4x4 super duty truck. We were in cruise control going approx 55 mph. We drove over what I believe was a large expansion joint on the freeway. Immediately after we traveled over joint, the vehicle start to violently shake and vibrate. After a tense moment of complete terror as the vehicle became extremely difficult to control and continued to shake violently we came to a unsafe stop on the freeway. After the complete stop, I immediately had to speed up again to prevent being rear-ended in the middle of the freeway. This vehicle is extremely dangerous and needs to be removed from the road.

I can say, first off, that I am satisfied with my truck for the most part. However, there are a lot of expensive parts, mainly the transmission, which sells new for around $7,000. I drove this truck for a little over a year and didn't have any trouble with it at all and when I finally did - it has been a huge ordeal since. The problem is that there doesn't seem to be anyone that has any knowledge of that style tranny. The main problem is that there are way too many electronic components, which makes it impossible for me to even work on without fear of making a small problem a huge catastrophe. Whatever happened to simplicity?

Very comfortable and a fine looking truck whose handling is amazing for its size and weight. However with less then 65K miles the turbo has failed, the high pressure oil pump has failed, and the EGR cooler has leaked. The oil is always changed at 5000 miles (a must for this truck) and while the warranty has covered the repairs the trips to the dealer are tiresome

This is by far the worst vehicle I have ever owned. It has been in the shop multiple times for suspension and mechanical problems. In 26,000 miles I have done had the steering gear box, replaced shocks, center drag link, steering stabilizer, all to no avail. The truck still has many problems that 3 Ford dealerships can't fix. At speeds of 60-70 mph if I hit a bump in the road the front end shakes so violently I have almost lost control on many occasions. It is a dangerous truck. It's stiff, it's rough. I personally hate it. This is definitely my last Ford purchase
Favorite Features
It has plenty of towing power

Gas mileage and a better quality vechicle
