The interior of this vehicle is done nicely and all comforts are provided for, i.e. heated seats, moon roof, cd, etc. One design flaw I do not like is having to turn OFF the overdrive instead of turning it ON. By this method, you drive a lot for awhile around town before you remember you should have turned it off. Also, the gauges on the dash are somewhat hard to view while driving, especially the dark panel during the day - doesn't show up but most new cars are like this. Other than those, I'm am very happy.
Favorite Features
Interior done nicely, body look.
Suggested Improvements
Fix it so you turn Overdrive ON if you want to use it, not have to remember to turn it OFF if you don't.

I was delighted to have purchased a new F150. Shortly after that things started to happen. The computer went, as did the gas consumption. The battery was replaced after a couple tows. side panels between the doors came unglued, handling was boaty. The A/C was unacceptable; wouldn't cool the cab on hot days. I was disappointed with the power when pulling a trailer with the trailer loaded. Overall I had the truck back to the dealership 9 times within 12 months, for some major complaints. The dealership was very responsive, but the problems were not theirs. I have been a 150 fan for many years, not any more.

This is truly a well built truck. I have no complaints.
Favorite Features
FX4 package has cool wheels. The seats are very comfortable.

The 2004 interior trim ideas would have been great. (carbon fiber/chrome) A high-end stereo would have been even better.

My truck is an 2004 F-150 STX version 4.2 and 5 speed. It is a lot of fun to drive. Can pull pop up trailer with no problem. I was afraid that the 4.2 would not be able to handle the things I do, but was I ever wrong. The STX is the sport truck version. I mostly got this truck because of the price. At $14,350 it was less than a lot of used trucks.
Favorite Features
STX package, 5 speed, Kenwood stereo.

My truck is just right.

If you can find one of these still left, it's a great bargain!! No frills, but a comfortable and functional truck for work and play.
Favorite Features
4.6 engine has good power and acceleration. Gas mileage has been excellent (18+)for a big truck. Comfortable ride
Suggested Improvements
Standard tires-235-70-16's are a bit small. 235-75-16's would have been about right.

This F-150 has been a very solid vehicle for me. After the disaster that was my 1999 Olds Bravada the simplicity was a welcome change. Though I have only put about 10000 miles on it, I have not had even a minor mechanical glitch at this point. With current incentives, it cost less than my old SUV did USED. I think this will be a reliable truck for years to come. The Super Cab is not very roomy but can hold an average sized adult male on shorter trips (under a couple of hours). The back "doors" help with getting passengers into and out of the back. The ride is fairly smooth for a truck and it gets better milage than expected.
Favorite Features
Rear doors.
Suggested Improvements
Cup holders could be closer to driver. Storage compartments on doors could be larger.

supprised that shortwheelbase rides as good as it does. Power seems to be strong for a 6 cyl. 3.55 ratio may help here.all and all good truck for the price.

I bought this truck specifically for pulling my work trailer. At around 3500 pounds w/ 2 tanks of water, the trailer was a bit much for my 3.0 6 Cyl. Ranger. The F150 Heritage and it's torquey V6 pulls it with no problems. Towing on the highway ia a breeze. The 4 wheel ABS Disc Brakes work great, even with the weight. Great affordability and hey...It's a Ford.

V6 is very smooth. Quiet ride.

Got the truck at a great deal, about $9000 off MSRP. Traded a sluggish 2002 4 cyl GMC Sonoma for it. Great acceleration, solid build & frame. The ride is smooth and the clutch is firm. It handles really well over the road and around corners. From a 26 year old's perspective, it has a great look for the money->sturdy rear leaf springs give it an aggressive look (doesn't look like the typical low end work truck). I get about 17-18 mpg but I am going to see how that improves with future improvements of toneau cover/exhaust system->that isn't too bad since "I drive it!!!" Overall, I'd pick this Ford over the comparable Chevy, Dodge, and Toyota!
Favorite Features
Too bad Ford is getting rid of it -> In my opinion it's the best work truck value going. I'm glad I was able to pick one up when I did.

Found On Road Dead? No way is this what FORD stands for. The Ford F-150 Heritage is a great truck to celebrate 100 years in automotive industry. The vehicle handles well, is well-designed, and is great for making hauls. Ford continues to outshine and outperform all other brands with vehicles like this. Congrats, Ford, on a job well done!
