F-150 Headlight adjusters

My 1999 F-150 has three adjusters per headlight, and only two of those are "adjustable". The third seems to be factory-set. My lower adjusters are seized because of rust on the adjuster metal screw thread. I've done the usual WD-40 soak but still can't move the screw in the threaded plastic hub of the adjuster, and at least one of the hubs already has a crack running ... Read More...

This is a very common problem with 1999-2000 F-150's. The dealer charges several hundred dollars to replace instrument cluster circuit board. Fortunately it is fairly easy to fix yourself. I have a ford F-150 1999 2x4 4.2. Last week I had a light check engine in my dash. The transmission had troubles going from second to third gear.After puting the computer on it, it said to change the selinoid that changes the gears in the transmission. I have a 1999 F-150 with a V6 4.2 and it is throwing whiteish smoke from the tailpipe and it has a somewhat rough idle. I checked the compression and the vaccum and they are fine. I pressure checked the cooling system for a possible blown head gasket and no leaks. I checked for codes and there aren't any and the fuel trim and oxygen sensors seem to be working properly. ... i have a 1999 ford f150 that will not start the key will turn but have to use a screwdriver and touch the 2 cylenoid post and it is sounding like it is not gettting fuel and i think the wires in the ignition switch are not touching. would that cause the antitheft system to block the fuel off from the engine? Not much to go on and I'm unsure of your dignostic ability, but here is my slant. Sounds like you have a cold start problem only. No check engine light or trouble code. Spray a liberal amount of starter fluid into the throttle body not the air cleaner area, and then imediately replace the intake hose prior to starting it cold. I have a 1999 F-150. Bought it used. I noticed the other day a slight squeal and clanking noise coming from the passenger side rear area. It sounds to me like the u-joints on the drive shaft are banging around but I'm not sure. It could also be a wheel bearing. The truck is a 4x2. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks Read More...
