I kept reading post after post on the internet about the 6.4 and wondering if my day would come? Well here it is. My $58,000 truck with 126,000 miles on it, with no warning except for the temp. gauge climbing, which I immediately pulled over and stopped trashed the motor. Guess I knew after Ford adandoned the motor after only three years I was in trouble. Shame on you Ford!!
Thanks for no help and a $17,000 repair bill..........

I guess I get to join your club. If you have an extra $18,070.00 dollars to spend get the 6.4 Powerstroke. If you rally want one find me. Mine only has 111,000 miles on it and the dealer says my cam and lifters are shot. Ford has done all the scheduled maintenance and almost all the oil changes. When I asked why it would go bad their answer was "well sometimes things like this happen". Never will set foot on Ford property again.

Well, add us to the unhappy-list. We will NEVER buy any Ford products again. This is the third Ford truck that made engine noise. Our gasoline Ford Super-Duty just recently took a dump, at only 140,000 miles. We knew it something didn't sound right as the engine was knocking. My husband took the truck in to the dealer to pay for them to hook it up to the analyzer. The dealer refused to do it on a Friday, and on Saturday it croaked on the highway. Towed it in to the dealer, and they said the engine needs to be replaced. A $7000 bill accompanied this repair. Boy, were we pissed. They wouldn't do anything for us to help us out, even though we had just been in there because we knew something didn't sound right and they didn't even bother to do the analyzer. That may or may not have pointed to the pending problem. As it sits now, we paid their $650 bill for just opening up the top of the motor, and had the truck towed to our house. It's been sitting in the barn for about 2 months now. We can't afford to pay for a motor. And to top it all off, we had just put almost $1500 into the front-end/steering of the truck, which failed as well! We aren't even done paying the truck off. And that just burns us every month--$385 truck payment for a piece of junk thats sitting in the barn dead. No thanks. A Chevy or GMC will be our next truck.
