2004 Ford F-250 Super Duty 4dr SuperCab XL 4WD LB (5.4L 8cyl 6M)
I bought a new F250 4x4 because of
prior experience with a 2000 model.
After test driving the other 2 makes
with diesel power, I liked the new Ford
the best. The 6.0 w/ 5 speed auto
work great together. The refinements
on the 2004 models fill the voids that
the earlier models had. The biggest
thing I don't like is the addition of a
catalyst to the exhaust. The smell
from it is dreadful and very sharp
almost acid like to me. I have to idle
a lot and the fumes are drawn into the
cab. On my truck the cat will have to
go. With some radio upgrades to match
GM's bose/xm system this ford could be
the ultimate practical truck.
adjustable pedals, backup sensor, fog
lights, and the convex mirrors are
adjustable so as to be fully useful.
The tires need to be larger, maybe 285-
75-16's. Also the radio options need
to include XM sat. availablity. On the
supercab the back seat needs headrests
just for safety
