2004 Ford F-250 Super Duty Crew Cab 4dr Crew Cab Lariat Rwd SB (5.4L 8cyl 6M)

Review

Purchased with about 18k miles, ran well up to 2009 - started blowing oil filter off(and all engine oil out) - thought I had put filter on wrong - happened again and this time burned up turbo - Spoke with a mechanic - manufacturer of engine put faulty head bolts on engine - head started lifting up and pressure backs up into the cooling and oil systems - had it repaired (new head bolts, head gaskets, oil cooler, turbo and bypassed egr) now runs great.

Review

Average just over 18 MPG; as a forester I tow very little. Mostly small city/ hilly driving. Have had no problems with the truck. My biggest gripe is the terrible turning radius, something I need out in the mountainous forests where I work.

Worst Features

I'd like to be able to maximize fuel economy, not power, it already has plenty of power.

Review

Great truck overall. Diesel would be better, could not justify price increase.

Best Features

Can carry all the people, dogs, or load needed.

Worst Features

A little more power out of the gas motor.

Review

Just bought a new ford F250, FX4 crew cab. Really love my truck. There are some creature comforts that Chevy has in their SD trucks that are appealing. Chevy has the power extend mirrors for towing. Ford has only manual. I really love my Ford, and I have always been a Chevy person.

Best Features

Keyless entry and key pad on the driver door.

Worst Features

Keypad on passenger door that allows you to open doors like driver side. Radio controls on steering wheel, seat position programing to move seats for the appropriate driver. Side power extension mirrors for towing.

Review

Its a very good looking truck, rides well on paved roads, little rougher on unpaved. Under hood is well arranged with easy access. Under frame fuel drain is a little difficult to access. Fule ecomony has been outstanding averaging 19.7 on the highway.

Best Features

The 6.0 double overhead cam Powerstroke with its impressive fuel economy.

Worst Features

Softer seats with a power adjustable lumbar support. Larger range of motion on the tilt steering. Lower adjustment on the seat belts, they tend to saw the neck of shorter drivers.
