I BOUGHT MY 2008 F150 XL, 4.2LITER, 8' BED STYLESIDE 7-17-2008.
AT 24863 MILES HAD TO HAVE THE THE TRANNY COMPLETELY RE-BUILT; I HAVE THE OLD TRANNY CASE AND ALL BRAND NEW GEARS, BEARINGS, ETC INSIDE.
NO MORE PROBLEMS WITH TRANNY @ 33,600 MILES.
I GET TERRIBLE GAS MILEAGE (15-16 IF I AM LUCKY), DRIVER SEAT LEATHER (?) MATERIAL SEPARATION, NOISE WITHIN CAB THAT HAS YET TO BE IDENTIFIED (COMES AND GOES).
LOOKING TO UNLOAD IT ........................ WENT TODAY AND DROVE A TOYOTA TRUNDRA.
NICE TRUCK, BUT HIGH PRICED.
THEIR EPA MILEAGE STICKER QUOTES BETTER THAN MINE, BUT ONLY 3-5 MPG.
FORD IS THE ONLY AUTO/TRUCK MANUFACTURER THAT HAS A MERE 36 MONTH/36,000 MILE WARRANTY.
THE REST HAVE 60 MONTH/60,000 MILE STANDARD WARRANTY.
DODGE HAS 10 YEAR/100,000 MILE WARRANTY.
TO THE POSTER FROM TEXAS WHO STATED HE DROVE HIS 4.2 LITER 500 MILES HAULING A 1000# OF LUMBER AND STILL HAD 1/8 OF A TANK OF GAS .................................. IS FULL OF CRAP!!!
THE ONLY WAY HE COULD DO THAT IS HAVE SOMEONE PULLING/PUSHING HIM OR INSTALL A LARGER GAS TANK.
I AM GOING TO BE FAIR ABOUT THIS.
TOMORROW I AM GOING TO CLEAN AND RE-OIL MY AFTER MARKET K & N AIR AND CHECK MY GAS MILEAGE AGAIN.
I TRUE HOPE IT IS BETTER.
