Good ride, Bad seat design
By ford_man2 on
2013 Ford Explorer 4dr SUV (3.5L 6cyl 6A)
Great driving SUV.
BUT be Aware that in the "base" model that the passenger seat height is very low and non adjustible.
Too low for anyone under 5'-6" to see out of easily.
Also too low for anyone over 5'-8" as your legs are way up at chest level due to the badly designed "low rider" seat.
Not supposed to happen in a $30,000 vehicle.
Dealer suggest we get a "booster seat", what kind of answer is that?
Handling and driveability.
3rd row fold down seating.
Have a "factory Recall" to relocate
the passenger seat up to a "normal height".
Tell the Explorer's designer to go sit in any other SUV and see how they do it.
Also put a rear bumper guard on top of the rear bumper for protection, again like everyone else does.
Now the lady (In
Charge) of "Customer Service" for Ford Co. has also told me "Sorry, too bad"
and go get a "Booster Seat".
Big Help (NOT!!)
I guess Ford has now resigned their moto of "Quality"
"Here it is, Too bad if something Sucks on your Car".
Next time I'll forget trying to support "OUR" economy and just get a Japanese manuf. car - as they still care about customer satisfaction.
Recommend you do the same.
Well yes I did.
Unfortunately I test drove from the driver's seat.
Silly me didn't notice the abnormally low passenger seat at that time.
So I'm just getting the warning out to others as this could happen to them.
That's what these customer reviews are for.
