Replacing the windshield and resealing it will not solve the problem. To fix: 1. Remove the windshield wipers and exterior trim around the windshield. 2. Bearing failure within transmission gearset cost $2800 for a full rebuild. At least I now have 75,000 miles in which to destroy it again and get a free (ha ha) rebuild. Than it will only be $1400 per transmission.

Gears spin and rotate around the sun gear, thus giving it the terms sun gear and planetary gears. Automatic transmissions have from 1 to possibly 3 or more planetary gear sets, depending ... We bought a 2005 Expedition Eddie Bauer model new in March, 2005. After driving it about 2000 miles, something odd happened. I went to turn a corner, and the brakes failed. Since I wasn't used to driving a SUV, my husband and I decided that it was just a fluke and thought nothing about it until the next time it happened at about 4000 miles. I tried to stop at rail ... Overall very good analysis. But, I will add that the $1,000 "discount" on the 06 DVD is not really a discount at all because the discount is not reflected in the vehicle's invoice. The standard mark-up or cost factor for Expedition for many years has been from 88.5% to 88.7%, but some of the above discounted units have cost factors of 89.5 to 90.5%. Thus no real discount.
