2004 Ford Expedition SUV XLT Rwd 4dr SUV (4.6L 8cyl 4A)
This vehicle is awesome! Has a very
comfortable ride and plenty of room.
Smooth ride and I love the independent
suspension! I also love that third row
seat, push of a button and it lays
flat. Would recommend this vehicle to
everyone who wants to ride in class!
The third row seat. The independent
suspension. The quietness of a smooth
ride! Actually I love this whole
Instead of having the door swing
upward, get the door to swing open like
the Ford Excursion, other than that,
don't change a thing!

Outside appearance is nicer than the
older style, sits lower and feels
tighter on the road. It does, however
have it's share of rattles and squeaks,
something totally unacceptable for a
vehicle in this price range.
Specifically, the dash, rear window,
and tha passenger door window vibrates
at highway speeds. Can't tell you what
Ford uses on the front brake pads but
it's garbage! The brake dust on these
trucks is brutal! Funny,they don't
acknowledge it as being a problem. I
changed pads with 10,000 miles, how bad
is that? Finally, the middle row seat
needs to recline with the outter two.
Ever have kids fighting over seats Ford?
Power fold down rear seats are great.
Heat and air cooled seats, nice touch!
Make a $46,000 vehicle ride nice and
quiet and tighten up a bit on the
noises...sheeeesh! Brake Dust, Brake
Dust, Brake Dust,,,get it?

This is my 3rd Expedition. Had a 98 &
01. None ever require repair other
than recalls (lug nut 98 & seatbelt
01). As much as we loved the first
two, the 04 is more than 2x better. My
wife loves driving it as much (or
more) than her BMW 328 convertible.
On recent trip from Dallas to Vegas,
got 16mpg going (against the wind) and
almost 18 on return.
The only thing we miss is the
cupholders in the dash which must have
been sacrificed for the in-dash CD
Ford seems to have thought of
everything. We especially like sliding
center rear seat for granchildrens car
seat. My wife doesn't like not being
able to see outside temp.
Sliding center rear seat. Larger side
view mirrors. In dash CD changer.
Power fold 3rd row seats.
In dash cup holders (ones in doors are
useless while driving). Interior temp
