2003 Ford Expedition SUV XLT Popular 4WD 4dr SUV (5.4L 8cyl 4A)

Review

I love my new car. I like the handling much better than the 2000 Expedition that I traded for this new SUV. Handles more like a car than previous models. I also love the rear seat, folding level with the floor.

Review

I've been driving SUVs since 1973. My first was a GMC Jimmy. All have been 4x4 since then and I've had seven in all since '73, mostly GM products. This Ford Expedition has absolutely topped 'em all. It is very comfortable, handles great and turns much better than my last SUV Tahoe. Third third row seat ROCKS. The independent suspension is da bomb shizzle! I now have 110,000 miles with only one minor problem ... the rear AC went out. Other than that this SUV has given NO problems.

Favorite Features

Independent suspension and flat folding third row seat. Mucho cargo area when all seats are down. Also this truck tows very well and rides good.

Suggested Improvements

Make second row seat more comfortable. Needs a little more power and better fuel mileage.

Review

Love the vehicle. Lots of storage room and comfort. Awesome on long trips with the kids if you can survive the cost of fuel. Still gets at least 12 in town and sometimes as high as 21 on highway. The biggest complaint to date though, is the brakes/rotors. With less than 57,000 miles on the truck, the brakes have been replaced twice and the rotors now three times. Would be understandable if we were crazy drivers!

Favorite Features

Roominess, comfort, leather seats, heated mirrors, and the electrochromatic rear view mirror. So nice not to have to switch the mirror at night.

Suggested Improvements

Definitely the brakes. Also, the position of the rear entertainment DVD system. Blocks a good portion of your rear vision when in use. Should be mandatory to be in the headrests or such. Rear backup sensors should be standard as well. That's a big truck when trying to move about in a parking lot

Review

I bought my Expedition with 112,xxx miles on it and now has 130,xxx. I have not had any mechanical problems with it. The only 2 Problems I have had with it is the rear a/c makes a Clunking noise and the Paint on the back hatch started peeling off with is common my friend has a 2008 Expedition EL and hers is starting to bubble now to. I owned a 02 Mercury Mountaineer before this and the expedition beets it hands down. Feels much safer, and with being 16 years old my mom feels better about it to. Ride is very Smooth, parking is easy, driving is fun, I have been loooking to buy a new suv with less miles but have not found anything I like better, I will keep the expedition to good to give up!!!!

Favorite Features

Remote Start - Turn heated seats on with remote, leather is comfortable, A/C Seats, Bucket Seats In middle, DVD player, Awsome sound system, Radio and Heat, A/C controls on steering wheel,

Suggested Improvements

Back hatch - paint peeling, bubbling, Rear A/C Clunking Noise

Review

Bought this car with 26k. Love to drive it. Drives like a compact car, so much more comfortable. MPG not bad considering it's size. Now have 96k, has run great only problem was replacing the transfer case. Now it runs great again. Will buy another one once this one quits. It's been a very sound car all around.

Favorite Features

the gas pedal raises. Which is great for short people. The front seats are comfortable. Keyless entry. Plenty of room for back seat passengers.

Suggested Improvements

Really nothing. The middle console is large enough, cup holders are great and have plenty of them.
