I'm a big guy 6'4", so the roominess is highly valued for me. It's also great for families and to lug things around. But I now have 125k miles on it and the front and rear differentials just went - $3 grand for that and I just dumped another $1,500 into it a few months ago. A lot of minor things have also gone wrong -- back windshield wiper broke, cruise control broke, cup holder broke, etc. And I am not hard on this car. I baby it. I get 15mpg, so that's a tough one too, but I knew that when I bought it. I just didn't know gas was going to be $5 a gallon!

Favorite Features

The beepy thing when you back up that gets faster the closer you get to something. Love that.

Suggested Improvements

The 3rd seat is difficult to remove. 2nd row seats can't fold down all the way when the front seats are all the way back. ( I have bucket seats in 2nd row) Get rid of the radio controls in the back of the center console. My kids think it's funny to change my station or turn the volume down.

Just do the routine service as required and the Expedition will perform as marketed. Have really enjoyed driving it in city and on the highway. Enjoy the safety of sitting higher to see any problems and the storage. One of the most enjoyable cars we had over the years.

Favorite Features

Comfortable, performance, sitting higher, adjustable sterring wheel and seats, good leather interior, plenty of leg room in second seat, ample storage, etc. We enjoy the Expendition.

Suggested Improvements

Extend warranty to 250,000 miles.

We did all the maintenance, it never left us stranded. We liked going on long trips, because of the comfort. I chose for my wife for safety, she chose for looks and how easy it was to drive.

Favorite Features

How easy it was to drive.

Suggested Improvements

You have already made the change, which was the third seat.

I love driving my Expedition. People still are impressed by all of its fabulous features. The adjustable pedals are a must for me because I am short. I love sliding into the comfy seats after a long day on my feet, and it is so fun to drive! That's why I call it my "Ex-pi-al-i-docious! When I first brought it home, my teenage son offered to give up his bedroom and move in to my car. He called the third row seat "stadium seating". I have never had a moment of trouble with it, and it still seems new even though I have put 100,000 miles on it.

Favorite Features

Adjustable pedals, leather seats with unlimited adjustments, fabulous sound system, keyless entry with user recognition.

Suggested Improvements

Have unlimited adjustments on all vents. Better organizational features in console. Electronic automatic settings on rear-view mirror.

It's very nice inside and out. I've had more than 1 Toyota and the last one i had was a 4x4 4-Runner. This expedition drives smoother than that. I was skeptical about getting another vehicle other than a Toyota but once I drove this i was happy.

Favorite Features

The color and paint job, the leather interior (except when you first get in and it's hot), the way it drives, they keyless entry, anti-theft, 6 disc cd changer and it tells the temperature of outside and what direction you're going. Spacious and decent sound system.

We bought our 2001 EB Expedition used in 2003, and it had about 20,000 miles on it at the time. Since then we replaced the impossible to balance Goodyear tires with Coopers (like Michelins, only cheaper), and the smooth ride increased 100%. In four years, the only issues we had were; the leveling system went out in the rear, and was fixed under warranty, and the backup sensors don't work from time to time. (They just beep continuously when in reverse) My wife's only complaint is that it drives like a truck (because it IS a truck) and gas mileage only averages about 14 mpg. but hey, you don't buy this car for the gas mileage.

Favorite Features

Auto air, sunroof, leather seats, captains chairs in back seat instead of bench seats, safe and comfortable highway ride.

Suggested Improvements

Better gas mileage.

I love everything about this truck except the gas mileage. It is a good family vehicle took 2 adults and 4 kids on a 600 mile trip with pleanty of room. Very reliable, can't complain about the way it handles on the hwy. I really enjoy driving this vehicle. It had 50,000 miles on it when I bought it 1 1/2 years ago now has 89,000 have had very little maint. had to replace 2 spark plugs and 2 coils and the brake pads. Too bad it doesn't do a little better on gas mileage.

Favorite Features

Lether seats, sy clean up with kids. 6 disk cd changer. Ability to seat 8

Suggested Improvements

Only one--better gas mileage!

I bought this with 47K and now slightly over 2 years later have 110k on it. I kind of have a love hate relationship with this vehicle but the love always wins. It has the 5.8 V8 & AWD and gets lousy mileage, averaging 12.8 with the best being 17 if you are on the highway all day. It is good looking, comfortable to drive, solid as a rock, will go anywhere and every time I look at it I still like it. The negatives are the goofy computer that runs the personal settings for the mirrors and seats which work one day and not the next. The power windows are noisy and there is wind noise from the moonroof. One set of brakes, one tune up and now on the third set of tires since new.

Favorite Features

Looks better than the new ones, very comfortable, drives great.

Suggested Improvements

Make the computer that works the seats & mirrors actually work! A little more power and less wind noise.

My husband and I love this SUV. It drives so easy and I'm short. I'm able to handle it okay. My 7 year old loves the room it has. With all the bells and whistles it's a dream to own.

Favorite Features

The automatic side window opening. The seat memory and the headphone jacks in the back. All the cup holders and the CD and cassette. I still have cassettes.

Suggested Improvements

I'd like to see built in handles in the third seat so that I can hang my grocery bags on them. Keeps groceries from rolling around.

Man, I love this vehicle. I can haul my 25 foot trailer and still bring another six people along for the ride. I own all Fords, and have never owned anything else but Ford, and this goes to show you why I've only owned Fords. The 3rd row seat is great, love the leather, and follows a good Ford theme on the outside; the front looking exactly the same as a Ford F150. It has never let me down for driving through the B.C. mountains in the winter. We usually go from Invermere (in the east Kootenays) to Calgary in the winter for Christmas shopping, which is about 4 hours away, and we can do 100 kmh the whole way, with great traction and handling. Only tiff is the cheap tires.

Favorite Features

-Towing capacity -3rd row seat -Winter driving.
