    I'm guessing at the IAC as the culprit for your idel issue and it is easy to replace so it seems like a good place to start. In the front the blend door axles break which leads to no control (in the back it is the blend door actuator that breaks it's gears).     The issue with the front vents is likely a vacuum leak. There are vacuum hoses that run under the battery tray and they tend to get corroded and leak. The rear is likely a broken blend door actuator. The gear in the actuator that moves the blend door is plastic and breaks. $50 part, depending on how flexible you are it could be a 15 minute fix or a two hour ... Read More

    well maintained every 3000 with synthetic oil Uhhh, I think you're low by a few thousand for conventionals (5-7k) and half an order of magnitude for synthetics... (15k).     Hi Calexp,  When testing used Expeditions, I suggest you check two often overlooked areas, the suspension and major lube records. Around 70k miles, the air suspensions on the 98s(even earlier on some newer models) start to go, i.e. loud compressors, leaking bags.     That data is incorrect, the 1997-1998 ford expedition was at 215HP and not at 220. The 1999 was at 240. The 2000 was at 215. The 2001 was at 215. The 2003 was at 232. Iam not sure about the 2003 because I had to get its info from edmunds. Hope that helps.
