There is water in your relay box just above and left of the steering column. It comes from the leaking windshield. Look up my photo series and fix on the ford truck enthusiasts web site under electrical insanity. Oh wait ... I found it: http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/443324-electrical-insanity.html

Hello everyone, Im new to this forum and would like to chat about my electrical problems that I think I now have an answer to due to some posts I have read. I'm posting this info so that hopefully I can help someone who is looking for an alternative to the expensive coil conversion kits for the air ride suspension in their Ford Expedition. I did a coil conversion on my truck for $79 and a few hours of time. I have a 1999 Ford Expedtion XLT 4WD. The least expensive coil conversion kit for rear coils was $220 from Strutmasters on E-bay. ... Read More
Have a ford expedition XLT 1999, turns on with no problem but continues to stall when not applying the gas. Had problem last year when it got cold and it worked itself out. This year the same thing. I have the same problem with my rear air. Have you found any solutions yet?
Hi. Let me start by saying I know nothing about vehicles. My husband is in Korea right now and I've been working on this problem for a few weeks. About a year ago, the power window on the driver's side came off the track. We took it to a local dealership (the vehicle is a 1999) and they "glued" it or something. Less than a year later, it came off the ... Read More

I have reviewed the suggestions about the Air Suspension System. I do have an additional question. Is this system associated with any fuses, if so where is it located and what is the name/size of the fuse.
My alarm is not working and not sure where the fuse's are for the alarm??????????? :( 1999 FORD EXPEDITION
I had the exact same problem on my 1999 awd...it is the new tire replacement on the front end...the new tires are larger than the rear tires that are worn down therefore the rear tires are spinning faster and causing the axle sensors to think the wheels are slipping ...the front transfer case then starts to clutch up and that gives you that clutching grinding noise. I put new tires on ... Read More

My windshield wipers work fine when they are on except for the fact the when I turned them off, they'll keep going as if I have them on the first click..maybe a little slower. As long as the car is on, they'll keep going. The only way for me to shut them down is to turn the car off then back on. Anyone have any idea what may be causing this ... Read More

My 1999 Ford Expedition has AWD. It makes BAD noises in the front end at slow speeds and when you first start moving or make a turn from a stop. It's a grinding or popping. The Ford dealer in Blue Springs, Mo says its normal and very common. The dealer said to just drive on!
I own a 1999 Expedition with the same front end grinding noise. I recently had the four wheel drive motor replaced as per a service bulletin, however, no change. Any luck with your problem?
I have a ford expedition the heat doesn't work the AC is perfect. I have taken it to different mecahnics and they can't find the problem. please help
About 3 weeks ago my 1999 Ford Expedition front windshield wipers began to turn on intermittently while in the off position. If you turn on the air conditioner, they turn on more frequently. I found that if I set them on the slowest intermittent speed, they turn on less frequently, but they still turn on, anyone know if I can repair this without having to go into the dealer????
As a present owner of a 2004 Expedition and previoius owner of 2000, please let me offer the below. First the transmissions for the 1999 and 2004 are not the same unless both 99 and 2004 have the 4.6L engine in which case the unit would be the basic 4R70W. I have read that Mustang hot-rodders like this unit. If the 99 has the 5.4L, it got the H/D 4R100 that ... Read More

I have a 1999 Expedition and it has a "VIBRATION" that's present when idling or driving. It's about the same level of vibration when traveling or at a stand still. It's definitely not the wheels and the computer has no codes - soft or hard. It's aggravating! The vibration is through-out the vehicle, and especially felt on the steering wheel. Maybe it's really bad engine mounts. Dunno. But as soon as ... Read More

Navigator3740-You make some very good points. I was thinking of doing exactly what you did listing the Expeditions many assets. The reason I didn't was because I figured that Mfullmer had already known about those features and just had concerns with the ones that he posted. I also agree that Ford has more "high tech" engines than GM, but I am disappointed that their (GM's) motors always feel more torquey. The ... Read More
I know exactly what you are saying on some of these things. The leather is rough and firm but is actually of higher quality than the previous Expedition. That data is incorrect, the 1997-1998 ford expedition was at 215HP and not at 220. The 1999 was at 240. The 2000 was at 215. The 2001 was at 215. The 2003 was at 232. Iam not sure about the 2003 because I had to get its info from edmunds. Hope that helps.
In contrast to your 99 Expedition problems. My 99 Eddie Baure has been a terrific vehicle. I have not had any problems with it and I am at 60,000K.
