Re: 2003 Diesel quit running [pors]
my 2000 excursion (7.3) started doing this a couple of years ago and it was the cam position sensor. I recently received a letter from Ford that there is a recall on the cam position sensor for the very reason you described. It sounds like your dealer is goofing on you, I called my mechanic when mine first started doing it and he said "cam position sensor, happens to ... Read More...

I have 2 2003 Excursions!
I have 2 one Eddie Bauer v10 and the other is Limited 4wd 6.0. Each has had its own set of problems and one common one. But when you have 4 kids 3 of which are in car seats, I think they're the best things on the road. So far, my local Ford dealers have been pretty good at taking care of the warranty issues, but they are near the end of the period. I may pay for the extended plan ... Read More...
2003 Ford Excursion (Excuses)
I have a 2003 Ford Eddie Bauer Excursion 4X4 6.0 diesel. Ever since we took delivery of this vehicle it has been a financial nightmare. Since delivery in January 2003 we have had brake problems, injector replaces and computer problems. That was in the first six months. Our dealer told us to have patience because it was one of the first off the assembly line and bugs ... Read More...

Re: brakes [dfc]
I have a 2003 4x4 6.0L Limited. The brakes started to warp in approximately 8,000 miles and I have had the rotors turned by a Ford dealership twice under warranty (after 12-15,000 miles each time). I went to three Dealerships and the first two said the rotors weren't covered, but a third covered them after I continued to discuss the issue with several of their advisors. ... Read More...
Ford Excursion vs Chevy Suburban/GMC Yukon XL - The battle of the titans
I own both
I have a 2001 Excursion Limited and I just bought a 2003 Z71 1500 Suburban for my wife. Both are 4x4s and are loaded. If you compare vehicles you must compare an Excursion with a 2500 Suburban. Next you can buy a diesel Excursion for the same price as a 2500 gas Suburban. I get 18.2 miles to the gallon with my (7.3L) Excursion (3.73 rear-end)@ 70 mph and the Excursion ... Read More...
