Fun but UGLY
Vehicle
1994 Ford Escort 2 Dr LX Hatchback
Review
i havent owned the vehicle long, but it has been in my family since it was less than a year old. has been very very reliable. survived 4 wrecks. the a/c went out and requires about $350 in repairs to get it fixed. most everything in the a/c went out at the same time. it has to be one of the ugliest cars i have ever owned. horrible interior design.
Favorite Features
honestly the only feature i like about the car is the fact that it is a manual transmission. other than that nothing special.
Suggested Improvements
drive it only after dark, they are ugly! have fun with them if you have to be seen in it during the day. they are sort of quick and i have outran hondas and some other imports

Review
I bought this car in 2006 with 88K and owned it for about 3 yrs. I never had any major problem with it, so reliable. Excellent on gas. I got about 36-38 mpg consistancly on highway. Very inexpensive to buy and maintain. So much comfortable handling stuff like furniture, groceries etc with its fold down second row.
Favorite Features
Roomy interior, Reliability and Gas Economy

Review
Overall, the best car I have ever owned, hands down. I am the original owner, and have close to 250K on it. I'm not religious about oil changes every 3000, but I get to them eventually. There's plenty of power in the manual trans 1.9 engine, I can pull steep grades with a full load of passengers & luggage running in 4th gear. I'm on my 5th set of tires, 4th windshield (darn rocks), 3rd water pump (they go after about 120K, easy fix tho), 2nd radiator (replaced at 210K), 5th timing belt. Those are all pretty minor, even expected things. The engine, manual trans, A/C, suspension, body, interior, all have been rock solid.
Favorite Features
Power mirrors; comfortable steering wheel; fold down rear seats; power in manual transmission model
Suggested Improvements
Cooling system was a little suspect, was a little gummy, eventually had to replace the radiator. Had to replace heater core at 44K. Bigger interior (I'm a big guy). Roof rack rails eventually got sun damaged and cracked.

Love this little car. Wish I still had it. Hit a deer. Still driveable but looked like crap. Bought the car in 1999 with 54,000 miles and drove it till 170,000 mile when I got rid of it. Best car I ever had. Fast little thing also. Only Grand Am or Grand Prix I could find that could keep up was the one with the supercharged motor. All the others fell behind. The only problem I had was brakes, ball joints, cluch, rear bearings. All replaced once. Lost third gear in trans, never did get it fixed. I just went from second to fourth. I would tell anyone to get the GT. Do not get the auto, go form the manual
Favorite Features
Quick, fun to drive. looking for another one.

Review
I love my wagon. Never anything major gone wrong. It is a 5 speed manual and still has original clutch. Yep, the ol' gal has been a trooper. I'm thinking of getting a new vehicle now but I will not get rid of my old faithful. I never would have beleived when I bought this car new that it would reach 250K miles. What a car!
Favorite Features
Have you heard the saying about stuffing 10 pounds of potatoes into a 5 pound bag? Well, that is the way this little wagon is. I have won bets with people that would not believe me when I told them how much I could haul in this little wagon. Big sometimes does come in small packages.
Suggested Improvements
How can you improve on anything so reliable? After 14 years of getting me around, I wouldn't change a thing.
