2010 Ford Escape Limited 4dr SUV (2.5L 4cyl 6A)
Review
Have used f-150's for almost 50 yrs..... Traded my '98 pu in for a smaller vehicle as I no longer at age 70 require a truck, but desired the similar ride and driver sitting-up comfort I became used to. I have not been disappointed a bit. Am getting 25.8 mpg combined mileage with the 6 cyl engine right out of the box. Only complaint I have is that the driver is a bit confined on right side with the transmission console for the big leg room I am used to..... But I am 6,2" and 310# ..... So if I have room, almost anyone else will have more! Dash is great and allows full review of all info quickly....... And I added moon roof as a treat to myself..... Kinda like it! Yes.... Count me as a happy owner!
Favorite Features
glad i went with the 6 cyl engine mated to that 6 speed transmission. Computor ahows 28+ MPG while highway driving....... and so far, 25.8 MPG total use 1st 1,000 miles. ( NOTE: The Program will not permit me to register my car as a 6 cylinder, 6A tran vehicle in the limited !!! IT IS NOT A 4 CYL )
Suggested Improvements
I'd like to see some additional right knee space provcided by making that area of the console thinner or indented a bit if possible ??? And a small LED light at the moon roof to show when it is properly closed and weather-tight.

Great mileage

2010 Ford Escape XLT 4dr SUV (2.5L 4cyl 6A)
Review
Averaging 27 mpg combined highway and city driving. Has all the creature features and comfort you expect in an American car. Suttle engine vibration concerned me at first but Ford states it's part of having a big 4 cylinder- will get used too. So far so good.
Favorite Features
Hands free Microsoft sync let's me travel on business and make those important phone calls with voice recognition dialing
Suggested Improvements
Engine vibration still concerns me some. Jury still out whether this will become an issue over time.

Traded a Lexus rx330 for it. Pick up is a bit slower, but very good. Love the car. My wife, who claimed she would never drive a Ford, also bought one. She also loves it. She traded in a Benz with no regrets. Love using reg gas.
Favorite Features
sirius radio, back up camera

Great Ride

2010 Ford Escape Limited 4dr SUV AWD (2.5L 4cyl 6A)
Review
I have already logged about 2500 miles on my '10 Escape. I also own an '04 and the improvement in comfort and quality is significant. There is very little road noise and the vehicle handle smoothly. The Sirius and sync packages are a nice feature. The 2010 Escape feels roomier than prior models. We're very glad we bought another Escape. Ford has done a real nice job with this one!!!
Favorite Features
Sirius, heated seats, smooth quiet handling
Suggested Improvements
At this point, I can't think if any.

Review
I have been looking at Escapes for several years. Early this year I purchased an WRX (awesome car) but found myself needing more of a SUV. So 2 times this year I have been researching and testing vehicles to drive. The Escape was hands down the best vehicle I tested. I tried a Jeep Liberty which was sluggish and stiff--the difference was night and day. For some reason above it wouldn't let me choose the 6 cylinder option which is what I have. It has awesome pick up and gets decent gas mileage--I get about 20.5 mpg but I live in the city. The interior is gorgeous, especially at night. The vehicle is very stable, even in steep curves. Ford has done a great job on this.
Favorite Features
Sun and Sync package are awesome Premium audio is very nice Vehicles handles excellent, especially for the clearance it has. I really think this has obtained almost a perfect balance of car like handling and truck like abilities--offroad, towing, etc. Excellent ride
Suggested Improvements
Not sure that I have noticed anything that needs improving.

Very Surprised
Vehicle
2010 Ford Escape XLS 4dr SUV AWD (2.5L 4cyl 6A)
Review
I decided to dive Ford another chance after years of driving different makes. I am pleased to say I am blown away. I purchased a base model (cheapie) and it has a TON of equipment already on it. The Escape handles well, is well put together (feels solid), has great power out of a 4 banger, and accommodates my 6'4" tall 350 lbs frame well with enough room to accommodate two car seats in the back seat! If you have not driven a Ford lately... DRIVE ONE!!!
Favorite Features
Solid Build, Great handling, fuel economy, roominess, LONG list of standard equipment, superb safety features and ratings.
Suggested Improvements
Make floor mats and Sirrius standard on the XLS

What a Vehicle

2010 Ford Escape XLT 4dr SUV (2.5L 4cyl 6A)
Review
I compared all of the like vehicles and the bang for the buck goes to the Escape. The Escape is getting 24.5 mpg in mostly city driving, it tows my 2500 lb trailer without a problem and this is the 4 cyc. The 6 speed auto is smooth and responsive. Plenty of interior room, seats are really comfortable, the vehicle sits at a nice height and I can get all of my suff in the back cargo area leaving the back seats uncluttered. Anyone looking for a vehicle this size would be remiss in purchasing this Escape. (24,300 msrp with a cash prince of 19,440) how can one go wrong. Unless you are still one of the die hards who thing Asian vehicles are better. This Escape proves my point.
Favorite Features
Well, it is all about the MPG, and the Escape does it. I also like the ride, 6 speed auto trans and the great 4 cyc engine. I love Ford's Key Pad on the door to get in the vehicle.
Suggested Improvements
The center stack (radio and climate control area) does need a bit of a new Prom dress, even a little bit would help this plain jane area of the vehicle

Real SUV

2010 Ford Escape XLT 4dr SUV (2.5L 4cyl 6A)
Review
I think Edmunds review is not very fair on this vehicle. We test drove the RAV 4 and CRV and they can't even compare. Ford has made a masculine, fuel efficient, comfortable riding, plenty-of-room SUV. To me, the other competitors "SUVs" are very sissy and nerdy. They also do not contain the features the Ford has. And, no I don't work for Ford and it's been awhile since we've owned one. I believe the sales speak for themselves as you can't hardly find one on the lot right now.
Favorite Features
Fuel efficiency -- Avg. 25 to 26 all of the time Plenty of room for driver and passengers Opening back glass -- not available on competitors Truck-like styling Back seats fold flat -- not available on CRV Smooth ride Comfortable and wide seats Sirius Satellite radio
Suggested Improvements
The no gas cap fill up is stupid. This just makes it easier for people to steal your gas. Parking brake needs to go in center of vehicle. A little more cargo room in the back.

2010 Ford Excape Limited, 6 cyl.
Vehicle
2010 Ford Escape Limited 4dr SUV (2.5L 4cyl 6A)
Review
We ordered the vehicle and picked it up on Sept. 18. We have driven it over 1100 miles. It drives and handles like a much larger vehicle. The performance is great and fun to drive. The gas milage so far has been good. It is averaging about 22 mpg overall. The interior noise level is much quieter than the 2006 Escape we previously owned.
Favorite Features
The rear camera and Sirius Radio are very good. We also like the feature of being able to answer the cell phone through the radio.
Suggested Improvements
The glove box could be a little bigger.

2010 Ford Escape XLT 4dr SUV AWD (2.5L 4cyl 6A)
Review
I previously owned a 2006 Ford Escape. While i liked it, there were some things that needed to be improved. It wasn't comfortable for a long trip and was noisy. The 2010 is much more comfortable and quieter. I have the sun and sync package and I love. I now find driving a joy with this car. Yes, it may not have as much cargo room as it's competitors but it has plenty enough for me and my 2 dogs and costs much less. I really love this car and plan on taking more trips now that I have it. Got a great deal on it too. The Sync package is wonderful.
Favorite Features
The moon roof and sync package.
Suggested Improvements
Can't think of anything right now.
