Then 2 weeks ago it wouldn't start and AAA testing showed the voltage was really low so we replaced it again. Now after 2 days my battery light is coming on again.     If the noise is coming from a particular wheel then open up that wheel. Sounds like a brake component problem, perhaps a wheel cylinder, busted spring or the like.

    we just got an '09 too and the leather seems to be of better quality than our '04. although the leather in the '04 has held up well, it has never been very soft. both have better leather than my '02 explorer, although the wear is mostly with the driver's seat.

    We have a 2009 Limited and the leather is of a quite good quality. It is a grade above the 2003 Honda Accord EXL we had and about equal to the 2004 Toyota Highlander Limited we owned. Nothing to complain about here.

    Haven't noticed any problem with our 2007 Limited seats. Of course we haven't been in the vehicle for more than an hour at a time as of yet. However, the door armrests are a real elbow breaker. Overall we also are very impressed with our Escape.

    My seats are just regular Escape XLT cloth variety. I keep fooling with the adjustment in hopes that there is a secret comfort zone for bandy legged dwarves. So far it seems that maximum tilt forward and down gets close to tolerable. There's a lot to like about this Ford Escape but I'm really glad that my drives in it are limited to a 25 mile commute.

    I have the same problem with my 2006 Mazda Tribute. Ok, here is what I am doing. I got the fog lights...and the dash switch installed and hooked up. No turning on. Now I am going in to the dealer and they are going to program the BCM to operate the Fog Lights. I will post when I find out more...

    I get about 22 mpg in all city driving with my CR-V (mainly an 8-mile commute on normal streets to work every day). That's still as good as this report on the Escape Hybrid. Perhaps the Escape will improve as it gets broken in and/or when it's not so hot.

    I visited my Ford dealer for my problem and was also told it was the Smart Junction box and that it is on back order 2-3weeks. Once the part is in they will need my car for a few days and give me a rental.

    I think I might have the same problem, I just purchased a 2006 Escape XLS yesterday. I have found that the driver side door lock only works with the key, remote and power lock button wont work, but all other doors work. I am going to call Ford tomorrow to see what should be done about it.
