I intend to purchase a uses Ford Escape Hybrid in the next two weeks, and based on my price range, it seems likely that I will be purchasing either a 2008 or 2009 model. By way of comparison, I just paid $1130 for a 48 month ExtraCare $100 deductible at www.troyfordesp.com. I have been retired for 11 years and the mileage on my Ford 2006 Escape Hybrid is only 12276 miles with no service problems on the car. A plan for a lower deductible might exist if my regular Ford warranty did not expire in March 2009 after 3 years' ownership.

My dealer explained to me that often dealers make "trades" of allocation spots or popular vehicles and will attach hard to move vehicles as part of the deal. My dealer won't take on any extra Expedition inventory, so he is limited to the allocations he has from Ford hq. The key is dealer allocation. No allocation = No VIN = No vehicle. Ask your dealer if they have an allocation that they can use for your order. Until that happens, your order is going to sit in a "CLEAN/UNSCHED" state in the CONCEPS (ordering) system like my April 21 order is currently doing. If you have your VIN, one of the Ford Employees who works at the production plant is nice enough to look up your vehicle to see where it is in the 10-step process, but you must have your VIN.
