2006 Ford Escape Hybrid 4dr SUV (2.3L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
When we took the Escape out on the road for a test ride, we knew it was ours. It's very roomy, has lots of cargo space, and you can't beat the mileage. It also has a lot of safety features my wife and I were looking for as we're trying to have a baby. Definitely worth cruising into the dealership to check out.
All the airbags, the whole interior inflates on impact. And 500 miles to the tank in an SUV doesn't hurt! The other thing you'll notice is that they don't sacrifice foot and shoulder room to make it more compact like you'll find in some of the Japaneses models. Also it has a 120V outlet in the dash.
There's not a lot of storage compartments in the front. It's 2006 and you need a lot of little places to put stuff. Also because of limited availability, you might not get ALL the options you want unless you live in a major city like Chicago or LA.
