Review
Has been a good, solid vehicle, mechanically. Engine pulls well and has good acceleration getting on the interstate. Had pretty much made up my mind to buy a Ford but out of the spirit of fairness, I tried the GM and Dodge. Main choice for Ford was driver legroom. I'm over 6 feet and the Ford is the only one I fit in. This is the third new Ford I've owned and bought all three without a test drive(1987 F- 150, 1990 Aerostar and this one). I'd buy another, probably, but my wife is ready for something smaller and nimbler.
Favorite Features
The SIZE! Full size van made the most sense. In one year family went from NH to CO, CO to LA twice, LA to NC four times. Kids had all the room they needed in their own chairs. Plus I can fit 4x8 sheets of plywood or sheetrock in the back.
Suggested Improvements
Ford paint sucks!!! Second vehicle I've had problems with and Ford (Corp/dealer) will not correct. Also, brakes stick on occasion.

Big Family Winner
Vehicle
1999 Ford Econoline Wagon 3 Dr E-350 Super Duty XLT Passenger Van Extended
Review
We have five children and frequently travel long distances to visit extended family. Very comfortable in hot or cold weather. Seats are easy to remove if we want haul cargo (and I mean A LOT of cargo!). Days of the car top carrier are GONE. We can stack luggage for seven behind the rear seat and have all the room we need for our family and a friend or too in the passenger cabin. Powerful? WOW! With the V10 engine we towed our boat through the North Carolina mountains and passed other cars on the interstate. We plan on running this baby into the ground, which will probably take a LONG time.
Favorite Features
Kenworth-like torque, styling, comfort. At 94,000 miles we have only paid for normal maintenance items at expected intervals. I have never needed to add oil between 3,000 mile oil changes.
Suggested Improvements
Running boards should be standard. The 350 series is very tall, and tough to get in and out of. 12v power for rear seats would also be a big plus.

Comfortable seating. A/C works good and distributes well to the back. V-10 engine is very powerful.

I wish the big vans were sold with more upgrade options, similar to the Chateau. Would like to have had 4 bucket seats instead of all benches behind the driver. Also would like to have had leather interior.
