This has been our best vehicle. We have owned it for 12 years now hauling lots of kids, drywalling, etc. We have quad seating and added a 2nd bench so that we can carry 10-11 people. This van worked great for vacations-lots of room. I have loved sitting up high and used it to teach my children to drive! We do tend to go through brake pads every 30K. The air still runs cold! No major repairs! Only had to replace the idle arm, battery and tires. I will be sad when we replace the "Vanmobile".
I love sitting up high and the seats are more comfortable than any other vehicle owned!
This was the worst vehicle we have ever owned!! We put $6,000 in repairs in it during the 2 years that we owned it. We finally ended up junking it and are still paying for the repairs we did. We hated this van so much that we are very leary of buying a Ford ever again. The repairs we did were timing belt cover seal, alternator, new engine, catalytic coverter (final straw) It let us down on vacation the first summer that we owned it. It was just a terrible, terrible experience!!!
The size and the looks were ok too.
Tear up the engine design and learn from their mistakes! Also at one time the van burning was a desired improvement. It was smoking under the hood and we were sincerely hoping for a fire so that it would explode and we could be done with it!!
