Summary
What Edmunds.com says
One of the last traditional rear-drive, body-on-frame full-size sedans, the Crown Vic is a favorite of taxi cab drivers, police departments and those looking for a lot of room at a reasonable price. However, those with more money to spend on a V8 sedan will prefer the modern, stylish Chrysler 300C.
Pros
Low price, rear-wheel-drive performance, standard ABS, room for six, comfortable ride, excellent crash test results.
Cons
Large size makes it difficult to park and maneuver, dated interior styling.
What's New for 2005
No major changes for the Crown Victoria this year.

After driving my dad's "new" 2007 Crown Vic LX I hit autotrader to see what kind of prices I could find on Vics.. I stumbled upon a 2005 LX Sport with moonroof, 32,xxx miles, priced at $12,750! Wow! What a car for a price like that! I've owned 1 front wheel drive car and driven many, I can't stand them.. Torque steer, odd weight distribution, hard on front tires, etc. The Crown Vic is perfection of a RWD full frame platform derived from YEARS of feedback being used in the most abusive of driving conditions, and boy did they ever get it right.
Favorite Features
RWD, V8, body on frame, watts link rear suspension with 4 outboard control arms, classic styling, refined suspension/steering, indestructible, and unmistakable on the road.
Suggested Improvements
More power, firmer shifts, a little stiffer stabilizer bars, updated stereo with input jack, more bolstering in the front seats, fog/driving lights. I can always find something in a car that needs improvement. Sadly the Crown Vic's days are numbered with production ending in a year or so.
Absolutely love my Crown Victoria!!

I bought this car about a year ago from a family friend. It only had 18000 miles on it. She wanted a new crown victoria, she wanted a different color LOL. She gave me a great deal on the car. I love everything about this car, the exterior looks very nice, just enough chrome. Also love the keyless entry pad, don't ever have to worry about locking my keys in the car. This car is so comfortable, and has alot of power. I find myself speeding all the time. The quality and reliability is awesome also. Haven't had any problems. My sister has a 01 crown vic, hers had 130000 miles. She hasn't had any problems either. I am sad they are discontinuing these cars
Favorite Features
I love the gas mileage for such a big vehicle, for mixed driving i get between 23-24 MPG. Highway I get between 27-28 MPG. That is amazing for a full size V-8 rear wheel drive vehicle. I love the comfort of the seats. Huge trunk and backseat. Quality of the vehicle.
Suggested Improvements
Don't discontinue the Crown Victoria and Mercury Grand marquis. They are such great cars.
I absolutely love this vehicle.

I absolutely love this vehicle. I bought it from a good friend of the family. It only had 19,000 miles on it. I love this car a lot. It is the most comfortable car, seats are just amazing. Best ride ever, eats up the bumps and potholes excellent. Has a lot of power, never have trouble getting car up to speed. I also love the steering on this car, for such a big car, it handles amazing. Also the gas mileage just shocked me to death. For a full size rear wheel drive with a V-8, on the highway i get 27 mpg, mixed driving i get 23 mpg. The only thing I was worried about was driving it in the snow, but it doesn't handle that bad in the snow. I am only 20 years old. I'm shocked how much I like it.
Favorite Features
Looks, many consider the looks dated, but I think it looks very nice. The interior comfort and room. The trunk is so amazing. The all digital dash is sweet also. The radio and temperature controls on the steering wheels.
Suggested Improvements
Nothing really except standard dual exhaust.

My Chrismas present was a 2005 Crown Victoria LX, was a perfect gift for my brother and I, it's perfect on trips, in the city of Philly. These cars are very easy to maintain and friendly on regular gas. These cars a very easy to supercharge ( if you like racing ) Other than that no major problem, smooth rides and great trunk space
Favorite Features
Length of car, trunk space, smooth ride, the way it looks with chome rims (22 or 24's), the room inside.
Suggested Improvements
Please more horsepower in the V8 engine. Fog lights( like the Marauder)
