I have had three C V P I . One was more of a LTD CROWN Rare 1987 2-door and I wish I never sold it. I should have save my money and repaired after years of trouble free use. I also owners a 1995 and a 2001.
I sold the 1995 and kept the 2001
. I know the ownere of the 1995which died with 350,000 miles on it . The buyer of the 1995 had a shop tune it and some how they missaligened the 2 spark Plugs and the tips broke of wrecking two cylinders . He drove it that way for two years more years before it was junked.
My 2001 I have had for 7 years and have only had to do general maintenance . My biggest complaint is I was " Moved to Snow Country " and it does not do well in Snow .
I am looking for a commuter car as the gas makes it costly to run it daily.
At this moment Police Departments and other first responders are buying as many USED CROWNS they can find . If you want one of these cars I know a Seller / Collector that refurbishes them and sells them.
At this moment he is trying to keep up with the demand with the newer ones he has as Many Police Dept , FBI , Homeland Security are buying all his 2004 up to 2008s.
He goes through these cars and if you do not have the time to look for one and do not have to make some initial modifications ( you need to get the parts from the Seller or Ford to make the back doors open from the inside ,stuff like that .
Mine has 135,000 miles on it and drive all over the Country as part of my job . It has gone to LA to Florida for work and has never broken down .
There are parts of this Country that are so destitute
you need a car this dependable .
