2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid SEL 4dr Wagon (2.0L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
Bought my C-Max SEL in January 2013, model 303A with pano roof.
I have 1800 miles driven, primarily in city and suburban settings. Bought this vehicle mostly as a commuter car, but wanted rear hatch to have flexibility carrying larger objects.
There has been a lot of chatter about the mileage published versus real life.
The EPA tests are not real world. If I can get in the 40's I am good.
Would buy a C-Max again.
If you want solely the highest mileage get a Prius, but don't expect much of a driving experience.
The C-Max will give you some fun an dfeel while driving.
1- handling and acceleration are more than adequate, a nice surprise.
I have noted no issues with braking distance.
2- Materials interior-wise are high quality, no rattles, or fit problems.
3- electronics all seem to work as expected, the gauges are helpful to max out your mileage and handle entertainment/phone etc.
4- Mileage is improving, since weather has warmed and some miles have been driven, Lifetime is now 42.0mpg.
5- suburban driving have seen mpg in the 50's (!)
1- Wish EV mode would extend past 65mph.
2- Had to close shade on pano roof, should be tinted darker
3- My Ford Touch and Entertainment system seems to take a while to boot up on occasions.
Updates to the MFT seem to take a while - car companies are learning about how to deliver updates, this is way new!
Wish list: How about LED running lights/tail lights; cooled driver/passenger seating, lane avoidance tech.
