Love my Bronx
Vehicle
1996 Ford Bronco 2 Dr Eddie Bauer 4WD Utility
Review
I have had this truck for more than 10 years and the only thing I have done was change brakes and tires, oh and one lower ball joint. She starts and runs like no other. I guess I should change the oil more often though. I tell you we started at 45000 miles and are now at 218000 and still runs smooth and hard.

A geologist review of a full size Bronco
Vehicle
1996 Ford Bronco 2 Dr XL 4WD Utility
Review
Being a person who absolutley makes a living working out of his truck and driving off road daily I have found that the full size Bronco Is the perfect truck for some on in my buisness. Repairs have been minimal, the ride on the road is as good as anything on the road that is off road capable. And when it breaks the parts are avalable at any auto parts store. When you compair a bronco against a comperable Jeep. Jeeps have no room inside requiring everthing to be hung off the outside with worse mileage and without the durability. Infact to set Jeeps up for tough off-roading they put Bronco parts on them to make them work.
Favorite Features
Short wheel base in a full size truck is what makes this veicle special with the ability to tow large trailers when the need comes up. With the 1996 model came fuel management which turns the mileage for a bronco from single digits to between 16 to 19 miles per gallon. This is in the range of a Jeep.
Suggested Improvements
Start building new ones using the new f150 and people will come out of the woodwork to buy them. The only improvements I would make is a new pre- runner suspension and a diesel motor would make this truck an ultimate off- roader.

My Sweet Bronco
Vehicle
1996 Ford Bronco 2 Dr Eddie Bauer 4WD Utility
Review
I bought my Bronco used at 2 years old. I traded down from a newer vehicle but my test drive sold it. Two weeks after I bought it, I had it at the Silver Lake Dunes and while many trucks were grunting and backing down not making it to the top, I had no problem walking right up. It's never given me any major problems in the 10 years I've owned it. I get compliments on a weekly basis and offers to sell. It will never happen. She's getting old but I will continue to drive it with pride until it dies or I do, whichever comes first. Never have I owned a vehicle this long and will never again. She's the best thing that's ever happened to me and at 200,000 and still going strong, why would I?
Favorite Features
The body style is sweet and the interior is so comfortable and roomy. The overall strength of this vehicle is beyond expectations and Ford made a big mistake when they quit building them.
Suggested Improvements
Fuel economy is not the best but if you want a tough but luxuious vehicle, you won't mind that.

I bought this Bronco from the dealer and paid $16500 for it fully loaded and has a 5.8L that has never given me trouble. Had about 40k on it, now 8 years later I am at 95k. I have spent the usual amount on the ususal things that go bad in time with any car or truck (i.e ball joints, radiator hose, exhuast pipe, brakes, shocks, front end bushings, battery, the original one lasted 7 years! All in all this truck has given me dependable transportaton where all new cars can't. I 'll drive it till the wheels fall off. I know it will last for me to give it to my son (he's now two). Keep them all original they are beautiful trucks just the way the Ford made them.
Favorite Features
Signal in the mirrors, 5.8l motor, rear power window, removable top, lots of room for hauling stuff and going long trips. Perfect truck for hunting in the woods. Decent gas mileage for a big truck.
Suggested Improvements
None, that's the way the truck was made, that's the way it needs to stay!

Best vehicle ever owned
Vehicle
1996 Ford Bronco 2 Dr XLT 4WD Utility
Review
After always wanting a Bronco, I finally purchased one outright for $5,000. It had 140,000 miles on it. I've now owned it for one year and 3 months and the only maintenance I've done is an oil change. It is the best running vehicle I have ever owned, and I will never part with it. Gas mileage is awful, but the other benefits outweigh it tremendously. I drive down the road with my children and I feel safe. That alone is worth paying extra for gas. I love my Bronco.
Favorite Features
With 33 inch mudders, my truck has a physical presence that turns heads everywhere. The body and design of this vehicle is downright intimidating, and I smile every time I look at it.
Suggested Improvements
I would love for gas prices to decrease, but that's no fault of my truck. I do wish that I had a bit more horsepower, though. The truck feels heavy every time I hit the gas. Again, the good far outweighs the bad.

Ford Bronco simply the best 4x4
Vehicle
1996 Ford Bronco 2 Dr XLT 4WD Utility
Review
The Ford Bronco was simply the Best all around, most versatile vehicle ever built by any manufacturer. It possessed the ability to go almost anywhere while retaining creature comforts only seen in sedans of its day. It is true that many "suv's" of its day may have ridden and handled better on the highway, however none from the factory could go offroad with it and ride and handle as well as it did on road. As for the mechanicals I can only speak for the 17 Broncos I have owned from 1988 to 1996, the worse problem I ever had was an o2 sensor. The only one I have left is my 1988 which has 275,000 miles on it and is still running great. I had 4 1996's all of which were sold with 150,000 miles+.
Favorite Features
I am a big fan of the TTB suspension, if you know how to work it it is very good on and off road, the best compromise to solid axles ever built. although solid axles are the best and what little you give up on road is well worth it.
Suggested Improvements
Its very hard to improve on perfection! However solid axles is the only thing I can think of.

I LOVE MY BRONCO
Vehicle
1996 Ford Bronco 2 Dr Eddie Bauer 4WD Utility
Review
I bought my 1996 Bronco after selling my 1988. This 96' was bought new while the 88' had been bought used. I was making trips to Kansas year round about every 2 months and in the winter you never knew what weather you might run into. I could drive my Bronco and not worry about snow. Because of the way my wife enjoyed driving my Bronco and since they are no longer, available my wife now drives a 2005 Eddie Bauer Expedition. I have at least 6 people who have been wanting to buy my Bronco for several years but it's not for sale. Most dependable and versatile vehicle I've ever owned. I find it hard to believe that Ford would discontinue such a good vehicle from their line of vehicles.
Favorite Features
Good looking vehicle, black and tan, most dependable vehicle I've owned. Great as family car or great to haul 4 golfers and their clubs to the golf course.
Suggested Improvements
Ford should continue to make the Bronco. Wife drives a Eddie Bauer Expedition 2005.

After comparing trucks for almost a year, this Portofino Blue & Silver Bronco caught our eye. We bought it the next day. It had 49,000 miles on it and had never seen a dirt road until we got a hold of it. It's still stock except for the addition of an AirHog filter and SuperWinch manual hubs; a brush guard is coming soon. It came with the optional 265/75-15 tires. And it still rides and looks great! My husband loves the tight turn radius; I'm fond of the agility in snow and rain. No hesitation at all when we need some oomph, either; the beast just picks up and goes. There is nothing quite like a Bronco.
Favorite Features
Style! Looks better than most of the newer trucks out there. Everyone loves riding in our truck and we get compliments all the time, usually from strangers, or dealers asking if we want to trade it in. (NO!) Also, it's just plain fun to drive. This isn't a wimpy truck, it eats the road with command.
Suggested Improvements
We had to change the radius arm bushings at 55k. Major pain but cheaper than dealer repairs. MPG stinks (15), but it's a V8 Bronco. Nobody buys a Bronco for fuel economy! And of course, the fender rust. It's 10 yrs old and we're just now getting a fender bubble so I guess I can't complain.

I have never unsure about the performance of this truck. Any time I need to pull out into traffic, I am sure to merge very effectively with plenty of horse power and great visiblity of the road. The truck has been well maintained and and is in excellent running condition!
Favorite Features
Automatic lock-in hubs has been a very convenient feature as well as the operation of the back seat. Whether you take it out or fold it over or just use it for passengers, it is never in the way.
Suggested Improvements
None.
