1994 Ford Aerostar 2 Dr XLT Passenger Van Extended
Review
Bought used in 2003 to use primarily as a roofings sales rep van. All of my gear and literature fit perfectly! Heavy driving - bought with 160K and just turned 292K - with only minor maintenance required. Very comfortable - I'm 6'4" and 230 and was never uncomfortable during all of those miles. Van tends to soak up and hold the heat during the summer.
Favorite Features
Suggested Improvements
Rear windows that tilt open for increased airflow with front windows open.

Great Van
Vehicle
1994 Ford Aerostar 2 Dr XL Plus 4WD Passenger Van Extended
Review
The most comfortable driving vehicle I've ever owned. 8 hours behind the wheel is very easy to do. Living in Wisconsin, the AWD has been very useful at times. The 4.0 liter is plenty of engine for this size van. I do think having to lubricate the front brakes every year is poor design. In the last 12 years I have enjoyed my Aerostar very much.
Favorite Features
AWD--removable middle and rear seats.

Great For Up Here
Vehicle
1994 Ford Aerostar 2 Dr XLT 4WD Passenger Van
Review
This is the perfect minivan for Canadians or Alaskans. It can move up to eight people, in a BLIZZARD! I've never had problems with this except for the alternator. Up here in Canada, we are always digging out after snowstorms. The roads are icy and what not. This van will make it through 2 feet of snow better than a 4X4 Chevy! Kudos to whoever came up with this idea.
Favorite Features
-AWD -Roominess of the interior. -Can haul almost anything. -4.0l v6 engine.

Review
I bought this Aerostar when it had 22,000 miles on it. It has never stranded me by the side of the road (unlike my Escort!), but it has given me some scares such as when the throttle control was dying and the darn thing was doing the herky-jerky on the interstate at 70mph! As with all Fords, the electrical stuff is crap. Gauges that can't be trusted, dash lights that flicker, idiot lights that light up whenever they feel like it. However, the engine is strong, strong, strong. This vehicle will run for another 100k. No problems with transmission either. Can haul anything, massive storage capacity. Decent mileage, 18/24! Rear brakes never worked, all braking done in front.
Favorite Features
Roominess, lovely high driving position, smooth cruise control, two can sleep fully stretched-out in the back with the seats removed (try *that* in your econo-box!). Hardly felt the bump when I was rear-ended once, but the car that hit me was quite mangled.
Suggested Improvements
Electrical, brakes.

Terrible piece of junk
Vehicle
1994 Ford Aerostar 2 Dr Window 4WD Cargo Van
Review
My uncle bought this car simply to drive to work back and forth carrying himself and his restraunt supplys. Hes a calm guy and he never driveres fast than 60 mph. Even still the car is falling apart. The lights no longer work, the gauges are giving out false readings, and practically the whole electrical componets are defected. The car is falling apart simply by driving it slowly. The whole cabin shakes and rattles on the freeway. Maybe the only thing I like about it is the comfortable front row seats. The rest is poor quality. Even the engine. I will never buy a Ford ever again. But they might make good trucks. Not vans or cars.
Favorite Features
Exotic seat with air pump.
Suggested Improvements
Too many to fit here. All electrical componets broken, rattles violently

Great van

1994 Ford Aerostar 2 Dr XLT 4WD Passenger Van Extended
Review
I got this van new at the age of 16. This van has endured 8 years of young/teenage driving hell. So far the only thing starting to go is the trans. It has held up real well, and probably has another 100,000 to go. I does feel a lot more top heavy than it is. It is also very hard to drive in high winds, but it is the tallest mini- van around. And it is the most comfortable inside since the seats are higher than most.
Favorite Features
Electronic 4WD. Lots of room. Rear radio controls, great towing vehicle. Same size as an expedition with a fraction of the insurance costs
Suggested Improvements
Whats the deal with the industrial orange and blue window/lock buttons? And could they be in a worse place? Taller cup holders would be great too.

This van has been an excellent value for our family. Plenty of leg room and cargo space for traveling/camping with all 4 of my six foot guys! Very dependable car, I've been driving it for almost 8 years and it's never broken down.

Plenty of room for 7 passengers plus luggage!
Suggested Improvements
Could do better in high winds.

94 Ford Aerostar
Vehicle
1994 Ford Aerostar 2 Dr XL Passenger Van
Review
Runs like a clock, no surprises. Very predictable vehicle. You can tell when something is going- a basic van which is very comfortable- especially for taller people. Nothing special but cheap to maintain and operate.
Favorite Features
Middle seat comes out, keep the back one, makes a pickup/kid hauler with plenty of "open space". Ideal for trash cans to groceries to oversized items at Home Depot!
Suggested Improvements
No longer made so this is funny. I would bring it back, a great rear-wheel drive van- a highway cruising family machine- none of that fancy dual door, AWD stuff . . .
