I'm glad to hear that other owners having more or less the same experience. We have a 1993, XLT, 4.0, Auto-2WD, We bought new in 93'. We've had various minor problems but have driven for 165,000 miles with no major breakdowns. I still have the original spark plugs in the engine and hope to have them replaced soon. My parents bought this brand new van in 1993 and we just noticed that the Check Engine Light turns on after excessive speeds and then stays on, it doesn't flash. It just recently passed smog, so we don't know what it could be? We changed the spark plugs and wires, the gas and air filter...it drives normal so we don't know what else it could be? Read More...

Discovered the leak is coming from where the steering shaft connects to the Rack & Pinion. The leak is seeping out from between the shaft and the rack and pinion seal. Question: Can I remove the Shaft from the rack and pinion and move it aside and simply replace the seal and re-attach the shaft. Feedback greatly appreciated. :) Read More...

I have a 1993 ford aerostar (3.0L). I was thinking about replacing the sparkplugs in it myself. Could you give me some advice on how I can access all six(6) plugs? Also, there is a problem with the interior heat. I recently had the heater coil, water pump and the thermostat replaced. Before those items malfunction the interior heat worked. I own a 1993 Ford Aerostar, 3.0 liter. Both the brake light and the ABS light are illuminated. The brakes work great. I did have a broken adjuster on the right rear drum and after I replaced it and drove the car backwards to set the brakes is when the lights came on. Fluid level is just below max. Read More...
