1993 Eagle Summit DL 4dr Wagon DL 4dr Wagon
I bought this car new in 1993. Was a camper and lived in it for 20 years. Only major problem was gasket between transmission and motor had to be replaced. After 332,000 miles I donated it, not because of any problems with it, but because I got something a little bigger. That little car could have easily gone another 100,000 miles...no problem. I absolutely loved it. Good bye old friend...wherever you are.
It was easy to drive, not bad on gas, comfortable and very reliable.
1993 Eagle Summit DL 4dr Wagon 4dr Wagon AWD
Bought with manual tr. ,used, 150K, with 2 valves blown, smoked heavily, fixed only 2 valves and head gasket, smoke didn't dissapear, was told all exhaust valves needed to be replaced. Major problem : if you have asian made Summit it has 90% parts of Mitsubishi Expo! Buy only parts that look like the one you have inside. When I asked for ignition rotor for Summit it was different from Expo, that coused a lot of problems. Starter the same fuel filter the same Always buy parts for both Expo and Summit and return the wrong ones. Remove fuse for seatbelts click manually save motors. Watch tranny fluid, had problem shifting, synchron was going bad - $ 1000.- job Shift slowly so clutch engages
30-33 mpg, good view, AWD, strong engine. I liked economy AWD, but would not buy again. Have clutch set so it engages higher, if you don't press all the way down before shifting, synchron suffers, don't drive on low fuel, EGR valve needs pressure from gasoline. it can overheat, even catch on fire !
Parts dealers, update your databases, customers can sue you for selling wrong parts !!!
1993 Eagle Summit DL 4dr Wagon DL 4dr Wagon
Has performed very well for 167,000 miles, with only 1 large problem which was a transmission (automatic) rebuild at 105,000 miles.
1993 Eagle Summit DL 4dr Wagon ES 2dr Coupe
I bought this car as my first. I purchased it with only 112,000 km on it. In the last year I have put about 40,000 km on it. It was in good shape when I got it, but it seemed that everything wanted to go wrong. I have replaced: radiator, water pump, plugs, belts, oil pan, all engine gaskets and seals, timing, exhaust several times, lights which the dumb car keeps blowing, and the list goes on and on. The interior overall is designed good but the material on the seats was cheap and it came apart in the seams. It is however a reliable car if you can keep up with costly repairs, and they are costly cause it comes with a Mitsubishi engine.
Fuel efficient, that's all I can say. Not very oil efficient. And believe me or not, I truely babied this car.
Don't even think about putting a subwoofer in it because it rattles apart, all panels rattle inside and there is no possible way to remove them. Also, 4' paper cone speakers in the dash were a drag. And no matter what I do I can not get rid of annoying engine tick!!! Belts squeal on EVERY model.
1993 Eagle Summit DL 4dr Wagon DL 2dr Coupe
I bought the car in 1995 off the lot. It had 75000 miles on it when I bought it. I loved this car. never left on the side of the road, and it was never in the shop besides oil changes. The only major thing that I had to replace is the clutch, which doesn't suprise me, when I bought the car, I didn't know how to drive clutch, and I learned in that car, and taught about 3 different people how to drive clutch as well. I swear I would still have the car to this day if I wouldn't have totaled it in an accident. (which that happened three days after I put in the new clutch) ha, ha.
comfortable inside, reliable, no major engine problems, would buy another one if given the chance
the seat started coming apart at the seam, the a/c needed more freeon, and the seat belts didn't retrack properly (was on recall for that problem)
1993 Eagle Summit DL 4dr Wagon ES 4dr Sedan
My car may not be the fastest or the flashiest, but for being 10 years old this thing looks like it could be a 1996. It runs perfectly, the body has kept up excellently, the interior is mint, and it really says something about the car when after 10 years and 120K miles, the thing runs perfectly.
The interior is clean, and in mint condition. It's durable, and while simple, keeps well. The spoiler on the back I think was a nice touch, and the design for the car was pretty good I think for a 1993!
The interior could have been customized for the Eagle (and likewise Mirage and Colt models) with a logo on the steering wheel and some fancier controls, but otherwise it's perfect.
1993 Eagle Summit DL 4dr Wagon DL 4dr Sedan
Bought this car around 1999 with 30,000 miles on her. Somethings wrong with it like idle air control motor, and the seatbelt motor went out-raw deal-manufacturer called a recall on switch, they fixed it, but since the switch stuck it burnt out my motor which isn't recalled. Seat belt motor quoted $1000 to fix!!
Gas milage. Either seats are somewhat comfy or my back got used to it. Not too many things have gone wrong, other than above, a bearing, tie rod, 1 set of break pads.
It is way too hard to find information on this car like a repair manual. Parts and labor are kind of spendy.
