It sounds to me like your transmission has failed. I have a 2003 Dodge Stratus SXT and I had to replace the transmission at 180,000 miles. Apparently these cars are notorious for their transmission issues. If you have a "Certified Transmissions" in your area, take it to them. They'll check it out for free. If you need a new one, it will be about $2,300, but you'll get a 50,000 mile ... Read More

I unknowingly ran my car out of oil this week. The oil light had come on twice before, but only for a second when going around a tight curve or sitting at a steep angle. As it only flashed for a split second i thought i still had a little time to grab oil (which is what i was going to do when the engine light started flashing), but apparently not. ... Read More
My check engine light goes on and off intermitantly. Every time I put gas in it the damn light goes on and then about two days later it goes off. Then it will turn on while driving and it will not shift out of second gear. (2005 Dodge stratus 2.4L DOHC) I pull over, turn it off and count to 5 and turn it on again. Light stays on but the ... HEADS UP!! My 2005 Dodge Stratus 2.4 just died at 82K miles. Found out there is a way of checking codes on the cars computer without taking it to Autozone. If you have a digital odometer you can check codes by turning the ignition on and off 2 times then to the on position without bumping the engine and it will read off codes on your odometer. So in my case I ... I have a 2005 Dodge Stratus. Not sure if you knew this but there is another way of checking codes. Turn ignition on and off 2 times then to the on position. (Put key in ignition, turn to on position without bumping the engine then off, then on then off then on (quickly). Look at your odometer and it will read off codes from the computer then it will say "done" ... Read More

My 99 is currently in an automotive electrical shop with similar problems. My mechanic said alternator, but the problem returned. The electrical guy thinks it's an electronic control module. I'll let ya know how it turns out.
I bought my Dodge Stratus in June of 2005. I've been religious with the upkeep. It was fine up until a little over a month ago. One morning while on my way into work, I lost power for about 10 seconds. I had the accelerator all the way to the floor but I was not accelerating and the tachometer was hovering around 4000 RPM with the accelerator all the way to ... Read More

I purchased a 2005 Dodge Stratus SXT in September 2005. I am not happy with the car. It drives good looks good and runs good. The only problem I am having is the gas milegage. It uses anywhere from $47 to $50 a week in gas. I took it to the dealership and they could not find anything wrong. This is my first brand new car too. Any suggestions?
I have a 2005 Dodge Stratus SXT Special Edition. I've had it since May '05, and I hate this car. It's given me nothing but problems. The Chrysler tells me that I have pretty much one more problem until they begin the "buyback" process, but I need to know if anyone has any advice on how to kick start this little process, or if anyone has dealt with the same thing. ...
