I noticed this problem a few weeks ago up at abouty 7500 feet and attributed it to altitude. Today it did it on the freeway at sea level and I took it to the dealer in Irvine, and so I hope they can figure it out. Just what was the issue with yours, and did they know how to fix it?The dealer also told me that Mercedes has taken over responsibility ... Read More

I have a 2003 Freightliner badged Sprinter with 65000 miles on it. The same problem described by Mark Lorenz has been happening to my rig starting at 30000 miles. I found that by turning off the engine, the system would reset and I would be good for several days until the turbo derated again. At first the techs could not find anything wrong (because when you stopped it would reset) and ... Read More

I purchased a 2008 Leftover this summer. I bought the long body/wheelbase with duals 3500. Boy was I disappointed. I took it out on a job that required moving the vehicle every 100 feet. The doors automatically lock. with the key left in the ignition for ease of use the second key on my belt will NOT unlock the doors. I complained to the dealer on several ocassions about this and ... Nah, I've owned this vehicle since for 6 years and I know what it's like when the fuel filter needs replacing. What it does now is different. Filter had recently been replaced anyway, so, that's not it. It's one of those "strange" fixes. I haven't even driven it since March 2008 when I got my Chevy 2500 truck (gas engine) that costs me almost nothing to drive. lol I calculated everything ... Read More

I came close to buying a new 2008 with 1800 miles from the dealer, but after reading the nightmares in the forum, I’m gonna wait and see what the 2010 is about. It won’t be sold by Dodge any longer. Here is some of what is being said about it: Dodge Sprinter is the most versatile commercial van on the market. There's no other vehicle like it on the road, from ... Read More

My turbo resonator failed on July 26, 2008 (2006 Sprinter with 7300 miles) en route to ONT from NJ on a Sunday afternoon. Flemington NJ Dodge dealership was useless as was Chrysler 800#. ;) Thankfully, Kingston ONT dealership was terrific, identified the problem quickly, fit me into their schedule on Mon am and made a same-day repair under warranty. I post my story so others will be better informed and perhaps ... Read More

Apparently there is only one assembly (i guess that should be re-assembly) plant for Sprinters, just outside of Charleston SC, but it seems that daimlerchrysler sells the Sprinter as a Freightliner AND as a Dodge. Looking at those two websites, the configurations-available/options-available sets do not appear to be identical. For example, as sold through Freightliner, there is no mention of a "cold climate package" in the website Is that correct ? ... Read More
