Seats not as good as Ford super duty, but 5.9 diesel makes up for all short comings. Great towing and handling. Average 16 mpg towing 8-10000 lbs, 20-24 hwy .BFG rugged trails bad on wet road . Went to Toyo open country all terrain, no more sliding
Favorite Features
5.9, handling, power, mileage
Suggested Improvements
Seats. Door lock solenoid went out

My wife and I love my truck. I had a Dodge 1500 and traded it in on my Dodge 2500. The diesel is great and it drives better than any other vehicle I have ever had. The only thing I want now is a Mega Cab 2500. I have 4 boys and we have taken numerous trips for more than 500 miles and the truck was great. The mileage is usually around 22 to 23 mpg. The truck is great.
Favorite Features
Drives great with great power.
Suggested Improvements
Be careful in wet weather, the tires spin very easy. The back seats need improvement for comfort, but that is what the Mega Cab did.
So far so good

I've owned 11 vehicles in my life, most of them purchased new, and I can honestly say this is the happiest I've ever been overall with a vehicle. The list of issues I've had with this truck is short - I had a leaking coolant hose which I fixed with a 75 cent hose clamp. That's it in over 36K miles. I'm averaging 17.5 mpg (hand calculated) over the life of the truck. It tows well, can accomodate 5 people decently (though not for extra long trips), and is fairly comfortable. I intend to keep this a long time, unless the new 6.7 Cummins with the 6 spd. automatic tranny is just too good to pass up. I'd buy another one in a heartbeat. Oh - I also got this $5K below a comparable Ford.
Favorite Features
Stout 5 spd. manual transmission. Solid axles. No nonsense 4x4 system.
Suggested Improvements
Ensure injector and lift pump reliability. I haven't had any problems with either, and there have been improvements in the 05 and 06 models. But these are the most reliable diesels out there - why not fix these issues and make them bulletproof?

Excellent Replacement

2004 Dodge Ram Pickup 2500 2dr Regular Cab ST Rwd LB (5.7L 8cyl 5M)
Review
I picked this truck up used as a replacement for a totalled out 2001 Ram 2500. So far I love the truck. Even with the 3.73 gears, it pulls my trailer very well. The Hemi-5speed is a good combination.
Favorite Features
Lots of power. Decent ride. Lots of cab room for a short-cab.
Suggested Improvements
I miss the old Dana 80 rear ends. The new AAM brand, (or whatever it is) seems OK so far, but there is no aftermarket developed for it yet.

I've owned two Super Duties (a 99 and 04) both diesels. This Ram with the Cummins gets 20mpg, with more HP and TQ than than Ford's did. 58K miles, and its been to the dealer once for a minor items. Solid, reliable, powerful!
Favorite Features
The Cummins diesel!

Great truck! Great mileage!

Truck has performed perfectly since day 1. Have not had one single problem with truck. Fuel mileage is great for truck of this size, 20.5 highway and 16 city, and its not even broken in yet! Only changes I would make are back seat comfort level similar to ford/chevy. Feature are also bleak compared to others, no dimming mirrors, no auto headlights etc. his thing will pull a house and get 16 mpg when doing that.
Favorite Features
Powerful engine, cool sounding exhaust and turbo whine. drives like a gas v8, and is tight like a sports car. It' fast off line and has plenty of passing power. igh seating position has great visibility
Suggested Improvements
More user freindly, auto headlights, dimming mirrors, daytime running lights (come on Crysler, no daytime running lights?)

This truck has been a pleasure to own. It has Cummins diesel engine, 4X4, and all options. I'd recommend it to anyone needing (or wanting) a HD 4X4. I've driven the big Fords & Chevys. This one wins hands down.

Dodge Trucks are the best overall!

This 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 is fully loaded including the 345 H.P. 'Hemi' engine. This is our third Dodge truck in a row and they keep getting better. The first was an '86' long bed which we sold after 200,000 miles - the only repair (one water pump) at 150,000. The second was a '95' Ram 4x4 which we sold at 186,000 miles to buy the 2004. The only repair to the '95' - a component in the electronic fuel injection system failed. This 2004 is a heavy duty quad cab with a short bed. We bought it with the trailer tow package as we own a 32' Prowler travel trailer. We are totally impressed with it's ability to haul that trailer around. We can't find fault with any aspect of Dodge Trucks.
Favorite Features
The interior and exterior styling is second to none. there are no flaws in the fit and finish, and the 'Hemi' power is impressive. The structural integrity of the frame, chassis and drivetrain is pure quality. Instrumentation is organized and thoughtful and the solid sound of doors closing is great.
Suggested Improvements
The only improvements I can suggest are: Improve the fuel economy and lower the price tag. I test drove Ford and Chevy trucks and compared price and quality. I paid more for the Dodge than either of the comparably equipped competitors - but I'm convinced that I got what I paid for.

2004 at 7000 Miles
Vehicle
2004 Dodge Ram Pickup 2500 4dr Quad Cab SLT 4WD SB (5.7L 8cyl 5M)
Review
The truck has plenty of power and the ride is consistent with the 2500 style. Diesel fuel economy is slowly improving but still not good in town. Price wars in 2005 have reduced my trade-in value more than expected. The 4WD with limited slip differential provides plenty of pulling capability in rough road conditions.
Favorite Features
Sound system by infinity is great.
Suggested Improvements
Improve fueling so diesel fuel does not foam up in the neck and prevent filling tank. Add locking tail gate. Add transmission temp and oil temp guages. Improve load carrying capability so larger campers can be added. Improve method of manually shifting to 4WD.
