I fell in love with this truck the
first time I drove it. The HO Diesel
has better seat of pants feel in
acceleration than the '01 5.9L gas
truck I had. I tow an 18 foot car
hauler with a tractor on it (approx.
7,000 lbs. total) about 30% of the
time. With this truck I hardly know the
trailer is behind me. I am very pleased
with the mileage. I normally average 19-
20 unloaded on the highway and I get
about 15 around town pulling the
trailer/tractor. The fit and finish is
great. The truck rides better than
the '01 1500 I had. I love the extra
room with the 4 doors. The only thing I
would change about this truck is to
have larger rear doors with more room.
Favorite feature is the HO with the
48RE automatic transmission. I live in
Houston and did not want to have to
shift gears all the time.
Make the rear doors larger. Have an
optional tire or tires that are more
aggressive than the standard highway
tread available for the 4X4 trucks.
