2004 Dodge Ram Pickup 1500 4dr Quad Cab SLT Rwd SB (4.7L 8cyl 5M) 4dr Quad Cab SLT Rwd SB (4.7L 8cyl 5M)
i have an o4 dodge with 78k original miles, i just spun a rod bearing and dodge refuses to assist in any way meaning time for a new motor at my cost. i have had more warranty work done in the past than probably any vehicle should have, the had to fix leaking rear end, transmission failure, and replace both exhaust manifolds at the motor. my ball joints are also shot and my transmission is leaking at the yoke. i will never purchase another dodge again and i will recommend the same for anyone i meet. they were completely unhelpful at corporation when it came to warranty assistance. BUYER BE WARE!

This is an excellent truck. It is everything a truck should be; it's fast, looks great, and is better on gas than some believe. I'm getting at least 18 miles to the gallon. As you may know, the Hemi kicks in after 35mph,saving in some gas, not a lot, but savings is savings. Older model but it is a great vehicle. Great truck!
The look, size and power of this truck.
Just a little better gas mileage if possible.
I never thought I'd drive a truck but bought the SLT 5.7L HEMI after renting one to tow motorcycles. I absolutely love it! It's so incredibly comfortable inside, and you feel like king of the road when you drive it. I have NEVER had mechanical problems with my truck. It has been very dependable and I always enjoy driving it. Yes, the engine's loud - don't get a HEMI if you don't like it. That's where the power is. No, it doesn't handle bumps well - don't buy a truck if you don't want it to drive like a truck - just hit them slowly and head on. Fuel efficiency is not impressive - we all know that - take the bus to work. If that's not your objective, this is your truck. Don't miss out
It looks tough, rides well. Great engine. Love the huge arm rest/storage/table-top in the front seat. Back seats fold up for interior storage. You can't beat a pick-up for hauling mulch, moving, etc.
Could we squeeze a few extra mpg from it? Takes 2-3 tries to park it squarely in a parking space.
The Lone Star Package is great. This is the 1st HEMI I have owned in a truck, and let me say WOW. That is some power, off the line and on the highway, you will not be disappointed. I have had no problems in the past 3 years, and with the great deal am not upside down on my loan :~). Just wish it had a sun roof. For RAW power and decent mpg, its well worth the money. This truck can get almost 18MPG highway, or down to 9mpg if you have a lead foot and love speed. The bottom line is the power is there when you need it!
5.7L HEMI engine, In cab head room...bring your 10 gallon hat, gas milage for a 2004 5.7liter V8 engine, thumbs up! Looks tough at any angle, with 20" rims, no truck looks as good!
Wind noise is ear pounding if you let the rear windows down, so air flow isnt great like some vehicles with windows down. A must have design for Texas trucks!
This old boy as 53,000 miles on it. This as been a great truck so far. Most of these miles have been highway, it's the family vacation truck. Wife doesn't know how to pack. I have no problems out of this truck. The gas cap went bad with 500 miles on it and the dearler replaced. At 30,000 miles did the service at a local shop not Dodge paid about 500 or so for it. When gas prices got high we used my wife's car for vacation this fellow only gets 15.5 miles per gallon on highway at 80 mph. People can't beleive it's an 04. It rides good and looks good with the 20 inch wheels. Had to replace the tire with 30,000 miles on them. There sometimes is a ticking sound from the engine put in Mobil 1 synthetic oil.
Power, towing, and the look with 20 inch wheels. Plenty of room for a family of four. No mini van for us.
Gas mileage stinks but must pay the price to be the boss. Better seats in back. Put an arm rest in the back with cup holder. Put 100,000 mile spark plugs in this fellow
No more Dodge, I bought the slt quad cab with the small v8 thinking the gas mileage might be better, mistake. I have a Ford ranger that gets better mileage and for the weight to power ratio way outperforms the slug that Dodge is, lately I have been having trouble with overheating and have replaced every bolt on part associated with the cooling system and still it runs hot, bad gas mileage, underpowered, overheats, Toyota next time
none , hate it
get the Japanese to take over design and production.
What a Great Truck, it's fun to drive. It is a very reliable truck for the money. It handles excellent very comfortable interior. The only problem is the gas mileage. All in all a Great truck keep up the good work Dodge.
Everything, the way it rides, the sound system, the comfort!!
Better gas mileage
Switched from a 2000 F-150 Lariat last year for my Dodge QC Hemi, Wow what a difference. More power, no problem pulling my trailer and better comfort than the F150. Driving is far better and alot smoother. The interior has enough room where you dont think your sitting next the other person.
Hemi power. Love it when I step on the pedal and I'm off in a flash. Towing is a joy. I had to keep looking back to make the trailer was still there.
Cup holder in the front needs redesigned, keeps sticking. Need to make a brake controller an option.
I bought this truck used about 5 months ago with only 19000 miles on it. Best decision I ever made. I live in Ohio and took it to the Outerbanks for family vacation, and the ride was excellent. I average 13-14 city and 17-18 highway. Transmission shifts smoothly and love the rumble sound of the exhaust.
Hemi power. Just about every option available. Aggressive exterior look.
Interior plastics would match that of the new F150, but they might have addressed the issue with the redesigned '06 Ram.
I have a Quad Cab. I love the fact that I get style and power in one. With its great 20" wheels and good power. Driving it is fun and a pleasure.
Manual transmission, CD, AC
Overall, very dissatisfied with the engineering of this truck. The front doors rub and cut the weatherstrip off. Wind noise is worst in class. Rattles and squeeks like it has 10 times the mileage it has. The differential had to be replaced at 15k, and requires fluid changes every 15k otherwise. Seat motor burned up early. CD player ate a disk and required the Fonzerello treatment (that's a hard smack in the mouth for those of you who don't remember Happy Days). If anyone owns one, take a look behind the mud flaps on the front wheels, the paint will be worn completly off. The mistake I made in buying this truck was thinking that 35% off sticker price was a good deal.
Horsepower, this thing will get up and go when it's not in the shop.
Wake up and make a reliable car that doesn't require 2" foam to seal the doors. Wake up again and realize that your door design cuts that 2" foam in half. Wake up again and go test drive a GMC Sierra so you know what a modern truck should feel and handle like.
First full size, had Dakota's prior need the towing power. Wife and I were very pleased on how it handled on our cross country trip, 9000 miles. Gas mileage was good 21 on hi-way, 17 in city. Only downfall I have is front end suspension squeaks and squawk at slow speeds, in the shop for part replacement several times, no remedy yet. Heard alot about the Hemi glad I stayed with the Magnum. Had to have the door seals replaced, tearing apart near front window and front quarter panel trim. Overall pleased on how it handles and style.
Pleased with the engine, interior and style. Will buy another down the road, just as long as they don't go towards the boxey like the Dakota.
Front cup holder locking mechanism needs ot be refined, at times hard to open or close. Same goes for the latch assembly on the center seat console.
This truck has a lot of quality problems. The doors rattle and window seals leak. It now has 42000 miles on it and now has starting problems. My dealer that sold it to me is now out of business and "other" Dodge dealers don't want to fix it. This is the last Dodge product I will buy.
Build a better quality body without door rattles, a better ignition system, and make all Dodge dealers honor Chrysler corp.warranties regardless of where you purchased your vehicle.
Well so far so good, I really wanted a Ford F150 in the same year, but after driving both and looking at each they were about even (except the Dodge looks more manly man) Now I will say the Ford seem to have more get up and go off the start (I only have the V8 Mag and not the HEMI) but seems smoother all in all. Now, I have 21inch rims on mine now (bad choice if you want a non bumpy ride) but the ride is not as bumpy as my buddies Ford with the same rims and tires. Interior has space and room, I have the front bench seat so six total fit in mine.
I love the room on the interior
I traded a Ford F-150 for this truck. Mechanically, I have no issues with this truck. Comfort is another issue. Ride quality is extremely stiif. I know this is a truck, but the Ford is far more forgiving. Wind noise from the ill- fitting doors is unreal. I can slip my fingers in the gap between the windshield and the door. Evan after adding additional rubber to the gap the noise is still annoying. Fuel mileage is poor as well. Maybe it's just me, but 12.5 on the small V-8 could be improved.
Favorite attribute is the engine rumble. It lets you know you're in a truck
Redesign the way the front doors fit around the windshield. Also, let the power windows work after the engine is turned off. The odometer still stays lit up after turning off the key. WHY???
I've found my Dodge truck to be both fun and tough. It went through being rear ended at 20+ mph with only minor damage and no occupant injuries. It does pretty well on mpg with averages of over 20 mpg on the highway. I drove it through a huricane in SC through headlight deep water and high winds with no problems at all. It handles well and with the hemi engine has plenty of power and performance. I am very pleased with this truck.
The cab is comfortable and everything is easy to get to.
Add lighting to illiminate the cupholder area.
I got the truck at 7000 miles, and have loved it ever since. My satisfaction only improved once I had dual flowmasters installed on it. My wife loves it on trips, but hates me driving, because i like to use the HEMI power. This is the first vehicle I have ever owned that she prefers to ride in over her 4cyl car.
Power! Clean, simple, interior design. overall, the best truck I have owned.
The only problem i have is that my truck came with the tow mirrors, which I dont need too often. So, its a pain on the toll way and narrow freeway lanes. However, for $285 dollars, smaller factory mirrors can be purchased.
I love this truck. Had it a little over a year and have had no problems. Rides great and has lots of get-up-and-go even though it doesn't have the Hemi. I can't imagine how much power this thing would have with a Hemi, the standard V8 is that good. Handles amazingly well considering its size. Great ride and plenty of passenger room.
Ride comfort, power, reliability and handling.
Lousy gas mileage, but I was expecting that. I get about 15 in town and 18 on the highway.
0-60 in under 7 seconds. Hauls 1800 lbs in the bed. Seats 6 adults comfortably. Gets 11-15 mpg:-( If you can afford the gas mileage this is the best utility vehicle in the world.
Hemi, four doors, seats 6
Gas mileage stinks big time.
So far, the Hemi has been good, but in retrospect, I would either have elected to go with the 3.92 axle instead of the 3.55 (just trying to squeeze as much MPG as possible and based on $2.09/gallon, who could blame me?) for around town driving and towing or simply employ the 4.7L verus the Hemi I purchased. The Infinity Sound System Volume Limit and basic speakers were a dissappointment. The ride is quite comfortable, the straight-forward cabin layout is obviously German influenced and for the BETTER I say. I wish they would take another 3 inches out of the bed and add them to the rear cabin. All in all, a good value for $3k less than Ford or Chevy. Think about it.
Cabin, cabin layout, huge center console and storage. Exterior styling, marginal crew-cab for an extended cab price. Logical engine layout arrangement. Easy flip up rear seat for storage access. A comfortable and quiet ride
Take another 3 inches out of the bed and add it to the rear cab. A 6' bed versus a 6' 3" bed is minimal. The 3 inches added to the cab would make this a perfect light-duty arrangement. Work on the mileage...it's not acceptable. Ford and Dodge both need work here. Chevy wins the MPG race hands-down.
If your looking for a great all-a-round truck, can't beat the Dodge. Interior very roomy with plenty of storage. Have 4 kids, so I need lots of room. I've got the Hemi. It does get a little thirsty, but when you hit the pedal it takes off, even at 75(+). Have 35k miles in just 1yr with no problems. I will have to say it does have a vibration a little when I'm turning to the right after a stop. Feel it in the right front brake. I use Amsoil series 3000 synthetic motor oil. Great oil with less break down, which means less oil changes. Truck has plenty of torque for towing. Hate to get rid of this truck but have to go to the Dodge 3/4 with Cummins. Need the mileage since I drive over 35K(+) a year.
Sport look with 20's. Hemi gets you out of traffic fast or in traffic easier. Braking, handling in curves or exit ramps. Towing
Higher lifting jack with 20's, standard jack doesn't lift truck high enough.
The power of the Hemi is great! Unfortunately you pay in fuel economy. The interior of the dodge Ram trucks are very boring with controls and features straight out of an 80's model vehicle. It's time Dodge gave us a few toys to play with inside the vehicle.
I love the look of the Ram. The 5.7L Hemi V8 rocks. The 20" Chrome wheels really make the truck look great.
Add something to the interior: GPS, CD changer, rear seat climate controls. Power seats on standard models would be nice.
This is my third Dodge, truck, 2nd fullsize. I really love this truck and the quality has improved every year. The interior is solid a quiet, all controls are easy to operate and don't feel cheesy. The paint and body are excellent. The engine is the HEMI need I say more? Of course the fuel milage is poor, but I knew that when I decided to purchase this truck. And this is a truck, make no mistake about it. Itis big, commanding and will haul anything I have put in the bed or hook to the trailer hitch. The only real down side I have found are poor rear wheel traction on wet surfaces (again it is the hemi) and I don't like the front end being so low on the 2x4 model. Level it out some Dodge.
The HEMI, comfortable seats, power seat have a lot of range, The HEMI, easy to operate controls. Lots of glass area, make changing lanes or backing up very easy. Nice large side mirrors. Very good heat and air.
Level out the stance, at least raise the front end an inch or two over the fron wheels. Seat material collects a lot of lint. The darker the interior the more lint you see.
This is the smoothest riding truck that I have ever owned. It drives great. This is one of the best trucks. I was always a chevrolet man, my last truck that I just traded in on my new dodge ram was a silverado swb. This new truck is awesome to say the least. I wish I had switched to dodge sooner but better late than never. I love my new truck. I hadn't had it three hours when going out to my brothers house in the country, a deer ran into the driver door, so now I've got to put it in the shop to get my door fixed. But it still looks great with a dent in the door.
very nice..smooth truck. rides great on interstate..even with 20s...highley recomend this to anyone.
white face gauges..6 person seating.
better sound system..dont get infinity...way too much...more rear passenger room with rear center arm rests.
I bought one in July of 2004. SLT w' Hemi/3.55 axle in hopes of getting adequate gas mileage. I expected it to burn fuel in Atlanta traffic, devour comes to mind..in town w/5 spd auto and easy on the pedal? 11- 13mpg. As far as power? Truthfully, I don't "feel" 345 hp worth...I test drove one w/3.92 axle...a bit more torque as expected but not that great...I test drove the regular 8 w/4sp auto..good enough for most, I simply wanted the HD cooling & towing...coupled w hemi, it can do just about anything...to be expected with this Hemi...Overall, extremely satisified, excellent value for the money...better bang for your buck..period and I have owned Chevy's and Fords
Cab, steering wheel audio controls, generous console storage, EASY flip up rear seat/access to storage, CLEANLY laid out dash and controls, EASY to read gauges with excellent contrast, 4 doors in an extended footprint! Extremely smmmooooothhhh ride! Turns on a dime, 85 degree open r/doors!
Take the 3" out of the short bed, add to the rear of the cab where it is needed more...a 6' bed vs. a 6'3" bed is negligible but 3 more inches in the rear portion of the quad cab would allow significant leg room & possible tilt of the rearseat....Work on the gas mileage. Other than that, a winner!
I will not say that Chevy and Ford trucks stink because they don't.I am honest in saying I owned a Tahoe and hated it. I am on my third Ram. I had a 96 single cab that was an underpowered V6. I did love it though. I owned a 99 5.2L quad cab with a manual transmission. I enjoyed that truck, but I had almost 130000 miles on it. It was time to get a new one. I bought a 2004 Black Quad Cab Sport Edition Hemi 1500. To say it is my favorite of the trucks is an understatement. It has so much base power, over 100 more horses than my last Ram. I will drive this for 200,000 miles. It is smooth as glass with the power of a sports car, and it hauls serious weight.
I am 6'4 and weigh 280 pounds and am more comfortable in this truck than any other. I have a ton of leg room. I love the Hemi engine. It is so powerful. I thought about the Cummins, but was worried about the price. The Hemi does everything I need it to and more.
A little more leg room in the back seats. There really is nothing else I need. Wishful thinking would be a 25 mpg! But let's be realistic! The 18 HWY isn't bad for all that power you get.
We almost bought the Nissan Titan but got a much better deal on the Dodge (our has the Hemi, but Edmunds for some reason doesn't list that engine as a choice..???). We got the sport appearance package instead of the chrome, looks much better and alot more menacing. The 20" wheel option looks cool, but it can turn the ride a bit jiggly, so try before you buy. It's my wife's daily driver, but when she's not looking I sneak it out whenever I get the chance ;-)
The Hemi power, really tremendous value for the money - even with the SLT pkg and Hemi engine, ours was still cheaper than an equivalent Silverado, Titan or Tundra.
That Hemi does have an appetite - we consistenly average aroun 14 MPG even in straight highway driving. The back seat is a bit tight for such a large truck. And how about lighting the cruise control buttons at night?
I bought this truck for work. Owning a Honda Civic previous to this. Of course the gas mileage is an issue, but there is no complaint about the power or the ride. The HEMI is awesome, more than enough power for anyhing I want to do. The looks are great, interior is quiet. I will never go back to owing a car again.
HEMI engine, roomy interior, audio system, 20 in wheels. Lots of storage, comfortable seating for 6.
A spray in liner from the factory.
Fourth pickup purchase, second Dodge, first Hemi. This Lone Star edition with the Hemi is the best value package available.
Big Hemi V8, Quad cab., excellent storage compartments, fold flat rear floor, 20" wheels, 4W disc brakes, R&P steering, big rig look.
Chrome wheels on the SLTs.
I love my quad cab dodge truck, not only does it look nice onthe outside but the inside is very roomy and makes my truck a family vehicle.
My favorite features have to be the grill and the overall design of the truck, it looks so powerful.
I only wish that it had a better turning radius but its understandable because of its size.
Great vehicle, it's a truck and it drives like one. Roomy, clean styling and you just feel safe and secure when on the road. Power is more than ample for everyday driving. Quiet and noise free. Stiff ride, but I expected that.
Easy to use buttons and gauges are within reach. Lots of room everywhere. Great storage under the rear seats
Mud flaps should be standard as should lockable storage which is between the driver and passenger up front.
Never thought about dodge, owned ford vehicles last 15 years, no more. THis new dodge is fantastic and the dealership is excellent. No defects on delivery, only 4500miles but no complaints. Goodbye ford and the poor customer service.
body style, price/value and plenty of room in the back.
I HAVE THE 4.7 AND THE FUEL ECONOMY COULD BE BETTER. bUT THAT IS NOT WHY i BOUGHT IT. I CURRENTLY GET 17.1 hIGHWAY MILAGE. THIS TRUCK WAS MADE FOR ME! I have owned many trucks and this one is my favorite.
I have not been very impressed with the tires although they are Michellns. I feel once I get new tire the ride will be better. Hate the knock when going from R to P. Have been told by two dealerships this is normal.
Love the Body style of the Ram. That is the primary reason I purchased it. This is my second Ram and my second truck. I will never own a car again. I love the room and width of a truck. When I trade again I will test drive more than one truck to get the smoothest ride.
Get rid of noisy transmission. Hate the knock going from reverse to park. Other than that I am pretty happy with my truck.
This has been the worst vehilcle I have ever owned. The engine hesitates at 50 mph, the ride is so harsh you feel like your riding on a turnip truck, and every day there are more squeeks, rattles, and vibrations. I have owned both Ford and GM trucks and never had a vehicle with such poor ride and performance. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership 4 times since I purchased it. The only result is that the engine hesitation/slugishness is a little better. I have purchased a Dodge vehicle for the first, last, and only time.
Better engine performance and a much smoother ride.
I MAY BE 62 YRS. OLD........BUT OWNING A PICK-UP MAKES NO DIFFERENCE HOW OLD YOU ARE. COMPARED TO THE GMC I OWNED THIS RAM 15OO EXCEEDS ALL EXPECTATIONS. LOVE TO DRIVE IT. GREAT PERFORMANCE, GREAT PAINT JOB,EASY TO HANDLE, AND MOST OF ALL MY WIFE LOVES IT TOO....AS FAR AS PRICING GOES EDMUNDS WAS RIGHT ON.WITH THE TMV.....WITH THE INCENTIVES THIS WAS A GREAT BUY.........
FRONT SEATING. AND LARGE REAR SEATING.
Moved up from Dakota and could not be happier. Excellent creature comforts such as auto pedals and controls easy to access. Seats six in comfort and handles like a car.
Looks, comfort, great ergonomics.
sunglass holder, auto windows on driver and passenger side
I bought my first Dodge pickup, and I am very pleased. Chevy and Ford make great pickups, but it was hard to justify paying three to four thousand dollars more.
What I found impressive: (1) Appearence. The 20 in wheels make this truck. (2)Handling. I feel like I'm in a sports car when going through an "S" turn at 35 mph. (3)Quadcab. Although Chevy may have a little more room, the four-door option on the Dodge is very adequate.
Factory Tonneau cover. I know that this option has had alot of opposition over the years, (myself included) but with a tongue groved channel in the bed rail, changing out the panels for the cover would be very easy. Also, on a bumpy road, you will feel almost every bump.
Our family of five traded in a Dodge Caravan for our new 2004 truck. This vehicle has more leg room, seating, and storage than our van. I never knew. Our truck is Patriot Blue and we are a military family. That lead the way for a full patriotic customization job which we've done. This vehicle is fun, tough, and comfortable. Yes, I would change some things but not much. We love our truck. It's actually my wifes...she makes sure everyone knows it too.
Love the ctr work area, all the pwr options, and the leg room. I was happy to discover the trailer lights pkg which we did'nt find 'till after we bought the trk. I like the additional pwr outlets too. The pwr seats are great and really a must in a trk that size.
Offer OnStar! Also, the back seat is 60/40. Can Dodge create three seats instead? Everytime we need something from the storage area, I need to disconnect our childs car seat from the middle to lift the seat. Maybe think about a built-in flip-down restraint seat.
Over-all, I would certainly buy another Dodge Ram. The money was well spent. I have owned the truck for 2 years and I had only one problem that was corrected. I can't think of one negative comment to make about the Dodge Ram.
It appears that Dodge Ram offers more cab room than the other leading pick- ups. I like the sterio system that Dodge Ram offers.
For the Quad cabs, I would design a light fixure that back seat passengers could use instead of the driver having to turn on the dome light. Even with the dome light on, the back seat area is not well illuminated.
After being a 'Chevy Man' my entire life a car accident force me into the market before I was ready. Looking first at Chevy then Ford and being sticker shocked, I looked at Dodge. There is more room and a bigger engine plus lots of bells and whistles at thousands less than the other two. And now after a few months of ownership I beleive this is the most thoughtful vehicle I have ever owned. This is a great truck!
40/20/40 Front seat with 2 storage compartments. Four doors for easy entry/exit. A back seat that holds 3 large adults.
A little more tilt on rear seat for comfort. It's sort of straight up and downish.
Fun truck to drive...4.7 V8 provides plenty of power. Smooth handling, smart design inside and out.
The design of the body is classic.
Make bedliner standard on some models (line-x or similar)
I've had this vehicle for about a month now and the only complaint I have is the fuel economy. So far I'm only getting about 10.8MPG but that's probably because I only drive it 10 city miles a day (880 miles total as of today). I added a FlowMaster exhaust and now it really sounds like a HEMI!! I took a look at Nissan and Ford and they definitely ride smoother (especially the new F150). What sold me on the RAM was it's classic look (not boxy) and the fact that you get a 6 ft bed. No need for an extender when hauling my other favorite vehicle (Mountain Bike).
Rear fold out load table. Stereo controls on steering wheel. Hidden storage. 20 in chrome wheels. Distinct Dodge styling!!!!
I would say fuel economy but what the heck, I bought a HEMI!
Very nice truck, just towed a relative's Taurus 250 miles & truck didn't even break a sweat (mine has the 4.7L engine). Well made vehicle, Infinity audio system is excellent. Power is good with the base 4.7, gas mileage is ok too considering this is a full size truck. Truck has the optional Goodyear 265/70x17's Wrangler SR/A's, much better ride than the standard Michelins. 20" wheels look good but give the truck a buckboard ride on the first truck I demo drove at the dealer.
Looks, Looks, Looks. Best looking truck on the market. Best value on the market as well, paid about $3k less than a comparable F150 Supercrew.
Backlight the cruise control switches on the steering wheel. Less wind noise on the highway but don't change the exhaust note, love the way that sounds.
I love my truck I only drive it on the weekends because gas cost like $3 a gallon
love the big motor and big power
very happy with my choice of truck
the power the "Hemi" puts out, truly a wonderful built motor.
Vehicle gets poor gas mileage. Tansmission makes lots of noise, appears that front end shimmies alot on braking. semms not very powerful.mine is a 2004 with 10k miles, purchased with 4k. wouldnt get another one.
20inch wheels are nice, cab space is nice, pretty quiet on the inside.
need more horsepower, needs better fuel econony.
This is by far the worst truck I have ever owned. It has been at the dealership approx. 12-15 times since I bought it for repairs. The majority of the issues are from the transmission (imagine that/Dodge). I am currently trying to sell this heap. I will never purchase a Chrysler product again!
Spend more time on R&D before you manufacture a product and sell it to the public. Chrysler needs to start taking notes from companies like Honda who invest more in R&D than most of its competitors. Honda's extensive R&D really shows on their vehicles.
i am extremely satisfied with my Dodge RAM...the other trucks out there pale in comparison...My RAM is reliable and dependable. I drove a Colt before i got me my first Dodge RAM now i refuse to buy anything else! My first Dodge had to be retired after of course saving my life in the only major accident i have had...that is why i won't buy anything else! My RAM was a lifesaver!
my V-8 engine...there is nothing that compares to having all that horsepower and i definitely love the look of my RAM...other vehicles move out of the way when they see me and my RAM coming!
Bring back the Aqua Pearl Coat color from 1996! *LOL* I loved that color!
This is a great Vehicle good Design and Quailty is great.
Design, Audio System, seating, ajestable peddles and the 4.7 powder.
Make the tempture controals Auto.
I bought a brand new Dodge Ram Quad Cab in August 2003. It had the 4.7 in it, which was fine for what I was using it for. But I test drove a Hemi in February of 2004 and fell in love with it. It feels much tighter all the way around. Needless to say, I traded in the 4.7 to get the 5.7. If you are debating whether or not to get the Hemi...GO FOR IT! It is well worth the extra $895.
345 HP Hemi. The best looking truck on the road. Best overall value in its class. I shopped them all...Ford, Chevy, Toyota...you won't regret buying this bad boy!
Rear floor mats as a standard feature. That's all.
THE FLAME RED DODGE HEMI RAM 1500 QUAD CAB IS CUSTOMIZED BY ELKIN INDUSTRIES. IT HAS 20 INCH TIRES AND RIMS AND IS A REAL LOOKER. THIS TRUCK LOOKS EVEN BETTER THE MORE I KEEP ADDING. IT HAS A RED INTERIOR DASH AND RED AND BLACK LEATHER HEMI SEATS. THE PERFORMANCE IS GREAT. I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THIS TRUCK AND BOY DOES IT GET THE LOOKS WITH THE RED TONNEAU COVER AND SPOILER.
big front end
The Dodge Ram Quad Short Bed is the worst riding vehicle that I have ever owned. If you do alot of freeway driving than you will hate this vehicle. You feel every little bump in the road. When driving on a concreat sectioned freeway, the truck will bounce, thrash, and shake at every joint section. If you have a drink in the cup holder it will be all over the cab. The seats are nice but I have not been able to find a comfortable setting. If you go back to the dealer to discuss this, they will tell you that you bought a truck and there is nothing they can do. Good Luck
The truck is the best looking truck on the market.
Get rid of the current suspension and lose the buck board ride. Needs deeper front seat bottoms to extend out past the mid leg section.
Best looking truck, better body style than Ford, Chevy and GMC. The Dodge looks and feels like a truck. Compared to Chevy with is low to the ground suspension and Ford with its low profile windows and small tires. Just not very impresive compared to the 2004 Dodge. I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We love our Dodge Hemi! We have driven tthroughthe rough desert terrain, and pulled horses with it. We love how roomy the interior is; We eat our food on the huge arm between us, like as if it were a table, when we are on the road. We think it is the toughest loking, that actually performs up to its appearance!
Maybe you should have a spot for 5.7 ltr review since they out perform the F- 150 in every aspect
more power sometimes 345hp isnt enough. but ford has to put a supercharger on their sport truck that only has room for three people.
Actually broke down in the first 35 miles. Dealer was outstanding in getting bad wiring repaired. Still the best truck owned.
Interior size with Quad Cab.
Need a small dash light when the tray is open for drinks/ mugs. Very dark and hard to find cup holder.
I have been unable to find the 5.7 liter Hemi in any of these sites. So here we are. I am not a truck person, but my husband has wanted one for a very long time! We got it right before being stationed in Germany. Very big truck for this country. Lot easier in the states, but still very big. Also the gas mileage!! Not very good, but what can you expect from a 5.7 liter Hemi? I do love it now though!
Favorite features are the sound of the engine, the turn radius, and the smooth ride. This makes it fun to drive!
I would change the limited height adjustment of the seatbelts. They do not go low enough. Also in the back seat, I would make the buckle stationary. I is free moving, and makes it difficult for my son AND I to put his belt on.
Auesome power and sound. I rather drive it without the music playing.
Style and looks!
so far i got 11200mi on this truck no complaints driver seat needs to be more comfortable, very good looking truck., every single day have good complaments about this beuty
very roomy nice big dash smoth ride good horse power
need more comfortable front seats., remote control rear slide window.
This is our 3rd Dodge. The other two were Grand Caravans. I can personally attest to Dodge quality and safety. My husband was hit and broadsided in his Grand Caravan. It sustained $15,000 worth of damage, but he came out with only very minor injuries,l thanks to Dodge engineering. Our new 2004 Ram 1500 slt has that same quality feel and weight, yet it handles adeptly and the ride is great. The seating is very comfortable, the lit instrument panel easy to read and overall, it is an excellent ride. Theres plenty of storage, and the front seat center console box is great for storing maps and other needed quickly items.
I love the lumbar seating , the sound system, and that handy center console box.
The only complaint i have is there needs to be a passenger side ashtray or move the drivers side one over, Its too hard to reach
This truck is great. The drive is awesome and quiet. The look and drive out weighs the poor gas mileage.
The tough but sleek look and the excellent drive.
I really like this truck. It doesn't have the best mileage, but worth it. It is light in the back but okay. Overall this is a great truck.
I really like all of the storage inside the truck. But I wish it had better body style.
Better body style and gas mileage.
This truck is difficult to park, I still can't get this beast between the lines! The A/C is LOUD. The dealer says it sucks leaves and dirt into the fan... nothing can be done except remove the fan & clean it. When the brakes are applied the driver seat shifts just slightly enough to be annoying. I'm 6'2" and find the seats comfortable, my wife is 5'1" and hates the seats. There is MUCH more road noise now than when the truck was new. Drive side visor has just gone "floppy". Can't wear my western hat while I drive, the head rest is in the way, hellava note for a pickup.
Reduce road noise and put a filter on the A/C fan intake.
I've ownd my 1500 Hemi for 4 months, I put 7500+ miles on it and its be great. No maintanance problems. I tow and older show car with it and it handles it almost as if the trailer wasn't there. When ever I go somewhere, either at work or home, my friends and family always want to go in the Ram.
handling and Hemi power Great looks
rear air vents on the quad cab
After 3 months I have the following to say: - Fuel economy estimates are high. Getting 12 city, 14 highway, not 14/18. - With 345Hp, should be quicker. - Drive train, especitally while towing boat, seems to take a long time to pick up speed. Once engaged, it pulls ok. With 345Hp, seems like it should do more. - Without load, can be a bumpy ride. Not suggested for commuter vehicle. Ride great with load or while towing. - A/C does not get cold fast enough when over 95 degrees outside.
Hemi sound and seating functionality. Six with seat belts, 60/40 in back with cargo platform.
Offer split back without leather. Don't like leather but had to get in order to have. Improve A/C performance and drive train hook up to road. Too much "spinning" of motor to tranny to differential to road. Seems very indirect.
i test drove them all but for style & fun-tion & value i chose the Ram & so far i am glad i did ! I did owe a 96 ram which i thought was great but this truck is so much more ,cool to drive ,cool to look at & room for the kids ! As the aftermarket & dodge come out with more & more accessories cool to customize also ! I LOVE MY DODGE RAM
the 4 doors , the awesome styling ,the new generation engines
better cd player , thats it
The truck is beautiful. Its fun to drive and you feel safe. However, if you are concerned about gas mileage, forget it. If you are concerned about mileage don't even look at a pickup truck.
I love the look and feel of the vehicle. Its great to drive.
The rearend is a little light and the ride can get quite bumpy.
Poor Fuel mileage is the worst thing about it. Truck tends to bounce to much around curves in the rear-end but, that is common with a short-wide bed. Center seat in the front should slide as the driver and passenger seat do to ensure more comfort for a center seated passenger. 0-60 in 8.8 sconds is rather slow for a V-8 but the pulling power can not be beat. Turns many heads and i fun to drive.
The body style is sleek and the amount of room inside is amazing. The back seat has more than enoug room whenthe front seats are pushed slighlty forward. The no glare rear view is also nice for the night drivers. storage areas are plentiful and the gauges are easily seen.
BETTER FUEL MILEAGE!!! Different mirrors with a turn signal light built in as it helps others see where you are going. Different headlights which would provide a more "sporty" look instead of a "bug-eye" look. Cener seat shouldbe adjustable.
