My Dodge Ram pickup "shutter" and dies when I brake unless I am going very very slow. It also dies in reverse usually unless it has been warmed up for quite awhile, has to hit 2000 RPM before it shifts. Any idea what the issue(s) is/are?

I'm sorry my friend did you say a 3,000 lb payload, or are you just drunk. The F150 is a half-ton pickup it can barely haul 2000 lbs. Even compare the F150 here at Edmunds. The Dodge Ram has the highest payload capacity which is about 2400 lbs my friend. Next is the Toyota Tundra at 2085 lb payload, then it's the Silverado/Sierra at 2010 lbs, then the F150 at 1950 ... I suspect that your mechanic has a anti-Dodge bias. I managed a fleet of LD pickups some years ago for my company. The 2000 F150 was a pretty good truck, in my opinion. You shouldn't go wrong with either one. Regards, ... Read More
2000 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup. When tryed to put on high beams headlights would go out, after a couple of attempts they would come back on. Replaced high beam switch on column and now the high beam indicator light on the dash stays on all of the time and the low beams appear to be very dim.
Hi I have a 1996 dodge ram 1500 pickup truck with 160,000 miles on it. I hooked it up to my 2 horse bumper pull stock trailer about a week ago and went on a 6 hour trip up to a campground in NY. It was fine the whole way but when I went to leave after a couple days of camping it would not start. Some campers tried to jump ... Read More
akjbmw: I have driven my 2000 Dodge Ram 4x4 QC 24K miles and been extremely happy with it. I have owned a Ranger, and two Toyota pickups and the I like the Ram the best. No problems (knock on wood) yet. However, I would go for a Ram Offroadster with the beefed up shocks and bigger tires. I have hit the axel just going over curbs and dropping stuff off at ...
