This wonderful truck, with 148,000 miles, 5.2 L, and 5-speed manual has been utterly reliable. It gets decent mileage (16-17 city; 20-21 highway) with the 3.55 differential. Acceleration is a bit slow, but I can cruise all day at 65 mph with only 2,000 RPM on the engine. Engine is so smooth, you can't even tell when its running. This is a "Mobil 1" truck: engine, transmission, and differential all have had Mobil 1 synthetic oils since after the break-in period. I expect to get easily 250,000 miles and 20 years of service.
1) NP 1445, 5-speed manual transmission; 2) Rear bench seat is unexpectedly comfortable; 3) Styling and design: "big truck" look.
1) Make sure all new RAM trucks can be made available with the option of a manual transmission; 2) Furnish the fuel-saving 3.55 differential with the locking feature for better acceleration from a stop in slippery winter conditions.
Have never owned a Dodge pickup until I
bought this one. Have only had it 5
months but use it in traveling sales
My experience with this one, which is
excellent, will probably cause me to
consider a new one or upgrading a few
Love the 360 gives me lots of power,
good highway speed and passing. Avg 17
miles per gallon which is better than
the chevy I had.
Radio in mine is auto type and is hard
to adjust volume. Would not want
another of the same type radio.
Need to put the Ram back on the hood.
I have almost 140,000 miles on my dodge
and have had no problems with the
transmission. Did replace the water
pump at about 110,000. Has lots of
room and plentiful power. Ipull a 27
foot 5th wheel travel trailer with a 10
foot seadoo behind it and it still
hauls it fairly well. Had some
problems with one headlight having
condesation in it. The columns creaate
a horrible blind spot. Wish they could
do something about that.
Sound system, comfortable interior, an
awsome looking truck with chrome wheels
and the red with gray bottom, plenty of
