2005 Dodge Neon SRT-4 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl Turbo 5M)
I have had this car for about 1000 miles so far. I bought it with 65k and now has 66k. The engine burns oil, at least 2Q a week, and now there is a ticking sound. The motor is new as well as the turbo. The car is not drivable anymore and now requires a mechanic to diagnose and fix the problem. First Mopar vehicle and I am very dissatisfied. Stay away from the SRT-4 unless you have endless amounts of money to pay for repairs and parts.
Racing brakes, steering, and the turbo. Very fun to drive as well as it is in good shape. Also like the wing on the back, adds to the sporty style of the car.
Head Gasket, like a typical Dodge Neon and maybe to stop the rattling in the dash and consoles. The engine also needs to be fixed to stop many of the problems that other owners are/were experiencing with their SRTs
First off kids get their hands on these cars and modify them. Find out what is modified as some of the mods might be crap and causing the engine to consume oil. Headgasket? That was a problem on 95 - 97 regular neons...this isn't even the same engine...get a clue! I've been running 30psi and the headgasket and mine is good. That says something...the only way you'll get a leaky head gasket on these is if you lift the head from to much boost. Do some research on a car before you it...especially performance cars that are prone to people beating on them like yours most likely was.
