I bought and drove a 1995 Neon and put 95,000 trouble free miles on it. I traded it on a 2000 Neon with 10,000 trouble free miles on it. Both of my cars had/have 5 speeds. When I traded my 95 the salesman asked me if I had any problems. I said no. He told me, before he went to look at the car, that it must be a 5 speed. ... Read More
My friend has a 2000 Dodge Neon with about 9800 miles on it and I have a 1999 Mazda Protege that just turned 22,000 miles yesterday. He told me he likes the looks of my car and all that, but never drove one. I told him we could change if he wanted for about a week, and see what each of us thought. No decision yet, but we shall see. I ... Read More
I live in the Washington DC Area & I am thinking about purchasing a 2000 Dodge Neon sometime in the near future, and I was wondering about the rebate. I see Dodge commercials on TV which states a $1000 rebate on all Dodge cars, while in the newspaper states there is a $1500 rebate, but both the Dodge Website & Edmunds list the rebate for $1250. Any comments or help greatly ... Read More
I agree 110 percent on your assesment of the new neons, I got a 2000 es myself and I just love it. I have similar gripes also but they are trivial, overall one well built ride, a major leap ahead compared to the first generation neons.A question arises everytime I read about the new ford Focus: WHAT IS ALL THE HYPE ABOUT WITH THIS UGLY CAR!!!!!I'm not impressed with ford's new ... Does anyone know how I can get my $650.00 back from the dealer for this problem? What have you done? E mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org I had the engine gasket problem on my 1995 Dodge Neon at 69370 miles in November 1999. It cost 650.00 at a dealership and nobody ever told me anything was known about the problem. Today, May 15, 2000 at 77000 miles, I had my car checked ... Read More
Do you have an automatic? The MPG has also been kind of an issue with our 2000 Neon (Auto) as well. My wife drives the car and mainly it is for a bunch of short distances (example: to and from work, etc.). I wouldn't mind seeing better MPG as well. He said once the oil is changed (Dodge uses some sort of special break-in (?) oil at the manufacturer, it should ... Read More
Yes, I've been wondering the same thing. My 2000 Neon has 4000 miles on it, about half being interstate miles. The mileage has consistently been at 26-29 mpg's, although I recently cracked 30 mpg. I was told by a friend that Dodges are not known for wonderful mileage ratings, and that all I can do is save gas by not peeling out at stoplights and by using cruise control. Certainly there ...
