For starters to all Magnum owners, I saw a very short interview of a Chrystler executive Winter of 2008 and this is what he said re status of Chrystler at that time: "we lose money every time we build a Dodge Magnum," I am not kidding. While on a out of town trip, my RF brake seized up while driving, I could smell it burning. Towed into local garage...I just had to replace all of the pads & rotors on my 2007 Magnum RT AWD w/10K miles. Just replaced the Continental Tires on my 2007 Magnum RT. 10,000 miles tires were shot! There is a Class Action Lawsuit...the class action lawsuit claims period ends on Sept. 15th, 2010. For all Chrysler/Dodge vehicles with OEM Conti tires purchased from 2003 - 2008. They will give you up to $120.00 per tire as part of the lawsuite if you qualify. Weblink here: ... Read More...

Parking brake problems?

Has anyone had parking brake problems?? I have had my front, and rear brakes replaced. My parking brake makes a metal to metal nosie when you are going 10 to 15 MPH. I have a Magnum RT 2007 with 14,000 miles. I have had my car in the shop 6 times for the brakes. Last time with the parking brake Dodge told the dealership to switched the brakes. My 2005 Cool Vanilla Magnum RT AWD fully loaded is now 2 months new to me (33k). I wanted the SRT but needed AWD for Massachusetts winters on route 2.I am overall happy with purchase but there are some things I consider cons to the car. My (N.O.S.) 2006 AWD hemi gets around 12 MPG around town (I drive very conservatively most of the time). When the service manager took the car for a few days to diagnose a problem, he told me that HE got around 12.5, and didn't seem to think that it was out of the ordinary. I found that the residual for a 2007 Magnum RT RWD on a 36 month lease with 12,000 miles a year is 42%. The residual for a 24 month lease on a leftover 2006 is 36% for an essentially 3 year old car at lease end. So, with mine being 52% for a 15,000 mile/yr lease I should be able to get them down hopefully below 40%. If I can do that, I will probably buy the car as it would make the ... Read More...
