A wonderful town and road car
Vehicle
2005 Dodge Magnum RT Rwd 4dr Wagon (5.7L 8cyl 5A)
Review
I have been intrigued with the lines of this vehicle for several years. This was when I first saw a fleet of three cars, all black and no chrome with all kinds of strips on the outside and antennas on the middle vehicle. These cars were out for high-altitude testing. At that time, I had no idea what kind of vehicle they were. About two years later, I saw the first vehicle on a dealer lot, and it was the Dodge Magnum RT. I have liked this vehicle since. I have always liked the Hemi engine. The last Hemi I owned was in a 1957 Chysler New Yorker. I wouldn't be surprised if that engine ended up in one of Big Daddy Garlits rail dragsters. This is one fantastic vehicle!
Favorite Features
My wife is short, so the adjustable pedals are a real plus for her . Also, the tilt and telescoping steering wheel are great for her. Wonderful sound system makes the miles go quickly on a long road trip. I like the abundance of space in the rear for luggage or hauling items when needed.
Suggested Improvements
Absolutely, my only complaint with this fine vehicle is the inferior tires (Continental) that come on the Magnum. What a poor set of tires to represent this product. I have already replaced them with Good Year Assurance tires. Believe me, the ride and handling is like an entirely different vehicle.

23,000 miles of joy and sorrow
Vehicle
2005 Dodge Magnum RT Rwd 4dr Wagon (5.7L 8cyl 5A)
Review
I have had my Magnum for almost 2 years now and have had a ball driving this car. I have had 2 bad and worse experiences concerning the front brakes. At 9000 miles the front rotors where replaced due to very bad pedal vibration. At 23k the vibration was back and the dealed wanted to charge me $180.00 to resurface the brakes. I replaced the rotors with Power slot rotors and CarQuest ceramic pads. The car stops much better than new and for about $600.00 in parts and an hour of my time my family is safe. Overall though, my experience with my Magnum is very positive. My overall fuel economy with the Hemi is about 25.25 highway and 19.2 city Not bad for an American V8 muscle car. Thanks Dr. "Z"
Favorite Features
Handling capibilities, throttle responce. The interior roominess is very important with 8 month old twins. The exterior styling is all Mopar all attitude. The factory stereo system is superb.
Suggested Improvements
Beefier brakes! More factory stripe and graphic kits like back in the 60's and 70's with the hood graphics hockey stick stripes and billboard stripes. Put a manual transmission in it

Still Loving It After a Year
Vehicle
2005 Dodge Magnum RT AWD 4dr Wagon (5.7L 8cyl 5A)
Review
I've driven this car for a year so far, and love it as much as the day I drove it off the lot. The AWD is great in any less than optimal traction situations - it's very cool to just power away up a hill from a stop light in the rain with no wheel spin! It doesn't drive like your daddy's station wagon. The handling is much more like a high performance sedan (i.e. Mercedes). You won't believe the amount of stuff you can get in this thing. The loading crew at Lowe's never thought we'd get a 4 burner grill (in the box) in there along with an arbor, a dozen plants and some bags of potting soil the other day. We've towed a 3400lb trailer on multiple occasions with no sweat. Great car!
Favorite Features
Handling - Hemi power +AWD - Cruise control accuracy - cargo capacity - seating space - style!
Suggested Improvements
Cruise controls on the wheel, cruise indicator on the instrument panel. Stronger vent output for back seat. Rear seat cup holders in location other than arm rest. Front seat above-door grab handle for passenger. Easier computer based performance mods.

I love this vehicle. It's fast and sporty. Everywhere I go people stare and ask how I like it because they were thinking about getting one
Favorite Features
My favorite feature is the HEMI. It's smooth when you want it to be, and anytime you want power, it's there for the taking.
Suggested Improvements
As far as Im concerned the Magnum is flawless.

Best vehicle I've ever owned
Vehicle
2005 Dodge Magnum SE Rwd 4dr Wagon (2.7L 6cyl 4A)
Review
I recently bought a 2005 Dodge Magnum SE. The base model with none of the fixings, and let me tell you that this vehicle has all that I will ever need. I fell in love with the Magnum over a short stint working for the dealer that I bought it from. The car I bought became my motivation to succeed. I have owned many cars in the past, but my Magnum is by far the best vehicle I have ever owned. The 2.7L V6 delivers plenty of power, even when I don't need it. It is as civil at 70- 75mph as it is at 30. The gas mileage is acceptable and the ride ie exceptional. Not to mention the turned heads everywhere I go. Do I recommend it? A resounding yes. Add in its versatile nature and the Magnum is #1.
Favorite Features
The power, versatility, comfort, ride, handling and design.
Suggested Improvements
Not much. Since mine is the base model, I suppose that there are options that could make the car a little better, but, the only upgrades I plan to make are nice chrome wheels and a kicking sound system.

Favorite car to date
Vehicle
2005 Dodge Magnum SE Rwd 4dr Wagon (2.7L 6cyl 4A)
Review
My Magnum has been my favorite car to drive of all the many I've owned. I reluctanly gave up my Mercedes for one and have not looked back since! I would suggest going for the engine upgrade, but even with the 2.7 I still have plenty of fun. I tend to drive my cars very hard, and my Magnum takes it all in stride. Cornering, hard braking, floored at most greens/toll plazas.
Favorite Features
I love the seats. Greats interior room. Awesome exterior looks.
Suggested Improvements
Like any car, a longer warranty would be great! Have had 2 minor electrical problems with the rear power windows.
I love this car!

Review
I have wanted one of these since they first came out on the market. After finally finding one that was equipped the way I wanted it to be, I have to say that I'm not disappointed in any way with this car. It is extremely comfortable and quiet. The acceleration and handling are amazing, and it is a pleasure to own. Since I am a very descriminating comsumer, the only complaint I could ever have is about the color choices that Dodge is offering this model in. They stink. They are boring and drab and in no way reflect how truly special this car really is!
Favorite Features
Roomy. Comfortable. Excellent sound system. Powerful. More nimble than could ever be expected for a car this size and type. Also, contrary to what they might make you think, on the highway, this car gets excellent gas mileage due to the MDS system.
Suggested Improvements
Dodge needs to come up with some special colors for this model to reflect how unique and awesome it is. They really understate their own work.

70,000 miles and loving it
Vehicle
2005 Dodge Magnum RT Rwd 4dr Wagon (5.7L 8cyl 5A)
Review
Have nearly 70,000 miles on my RT. As a former Toyota owner for 30 years it took a lot to bring me to buy a Dodge. This is one heck of a car! It captures the feeling of a 60's muscle car with great fuel economy, comfort, safety, and very high build quality. I went thru the factory in Brampton Ontario and was very impressed by what I saw. A clean super efficient factory where the workers work in teams, totally German influence from Mercedes. Some people may be put off by the rather stark interior, but it grows on you, think German influence. The Magnum is also a great workhorse, carries quite a bit with rear seats folded and a fine tow vehicle with the self-leveling suspension. No complaints!
Favorite Features
MDS with the hemi is incredible. Have gotten 25 mpg on a trip! How does a 13 second quarter mile sound? Work all week and drag race on the weekend!
Suggested Improvements
The front seats could be better, ie: SRT8 seats. I know you get what you pay for and the RT seats are good, but the SRT8 and Charger Daytona seats are superb.

I love my Maggie!
Vehicle
2005 Dodge Magnum RT Rwd 4dr Wagon (5.7L 8cyl 5A)
Review
Have had a few electronic gliches, but otherwise, a very good car that's fun to drive.
Favorite Features
The HEMI engine! Maggie goes fast and asks to go faster! Love the fact that four of the eight cylinders turn off when cruising! Also love the dual zone climate control. Very comfortable on long drives too!
Suggested Improvements
The electronics are my only suggestion. Seems to be shorting out and displaying error lights. Oh yeah, and I'd love to see these cars with manual transmissions!
Ton of fun, but not reliable
Vehicle
2005 Dodge Magnum RT AWD 4dr Wagon (5.7L 8cyl 5A)
Review
Magnum RT AWD is a load of fun to drive. Installed an AFE Cold Air Intake - adds 10 extra HP. Car is comfortable, agile and extremely fast. AWD with 4 snow tires easily handles severe winter driving. My only complaint is poor quality and reliability. I've been to the dealer 13 times in the first 4 months. AWD transfer case vibrated - fixed first time, replaced second time. Three new radios replaced in succession - radio ate my CDs. Steering rack vibration - unit replaced. OEM self-sealing tires replaced under warranty after only 8,000 miles. Major suspension rattle. Wiper switch defective. Cupholder lid defective. Front brake rotors warped after 5,000 miles - replaced under warranty.
Favorite Features
5.7 liter Hemi. All wheel drive. Roomy and comfortable. Dynamite aggressive appearance. Zero to sixty in under 5.9 seconds. Awesome V8 sound with the AFE Cold Air Intake. Handles well in snow with AWD and snow tires. Great Boston sound system.
Suggested Improvements
Add a six speed manual transmission option. Change cruise control and turn signal stalk positions. Add seat controls memory. Improve quality and reliability. Add auxilary port to radio for mp3 player jack. Dual zone climate control doesn't hold the selected temperature very well.
