Hey man the info provided below should answer your question. You can also go to dodgeintrepid.net which has several members who own these cars and I bet lots of them have done the air intake on the 3.2 as well. The 3.2 is the same as the 3.5 just a smaller bore so it should work just fine. And I've seen an air intake on a 3.2 before. I have the ... Read More

My 1999 2.7L Dodge Intrepid engine died last year, It developed a serious knocking, so on good advise I purchased a 2002 Dodge Intrepid 2.7L engine and took it to the mechanic to install. The mechanic called me a few days later to say he had installed it and i can have it back in a day or two. When i got there he said that the car apparently developed a ... Read More
I have installed a 2.7L engine into a 1999 Dodge Intrepid, the company I purchased the engine from said this engine was out of a 1999 Intrepid, couldn't get the car to start, pull the cam sensor out that came with the engine an had the dealership search out the part #, turns out the engine came out of a 2003-2004 Dodge Stratus same size engine 2.7L, Question is can I still ... Hey everyone. Looks like I have the oil sending unit problem I have read so much about -- at least I hope that is all it is. When the car gets hot on a hot day the oil light flickers at low RPMs -- it was at 700 RPMs, but now it is at 900-1000 RPMs. I have read the posts about the TSB on this problem, but the TSB is ... Hello. My mother's 1999 Dodge Intrepid is experiencing some vibraton at low speeds. Once you get over 20 mph or so the vibration goes away. According to the local tire dealer, the bowtie bushing is wearing out. It costs only $22 for the part, but the labor brings the bill up to $220. This is a fairly recent occurrence. Any chance she can go for a while without making the repairs? ... Read More
I have 1999 ES (3.2L, autostick) purchased new in Sept. 1999 with just over 65,000 miles on it. Under warranty the winshield washer reservoir and the drivers window control modules were replaced. Shortly after the warranty expired (36K) I had a transmission sensor and a front wheel bearing fail and be replaced for about $450 at a Chrysler (not Dodge) dealer. I also had the trans fluid changed with the sensor. ... Read More
I've got the 3.2 in my 1999 Intrepid ES. I've always said that this engine's power is ADEQUATE for moving the car. It's not a Corvette by any means, but it certainly does the job it was designed for. I use Mobil One Oil and I change it every 4000-5000 miles. I get as much of the tranny fluid changed as I can every 15,000 - 20,000 miles. The car is now ... Read More
I'm amazed... My 1999 Intrepid ES has 146,000 miles on it, on the original engine & tranny too. The engine is still so quiet I sometimes wonder if I had it turned on. My only problems with the car in 6 years: 1) The fan assembly needed to be replaced 2) The blower motor needed to be replaced 3) The ignition switch needed to be replaced. I've had to put some ... According to Alldata's site, there was a TSB issued by Chrysler for the '00 Intrepids in December 1999. The title was 'Door Seals Wind Noise/Damaged'. No TSB # was listed. A good idea may be to go to your local Dodge dealer and request a copy of this TSB. Otherwise, you have to pay for them.
I would take the md's advice with a grain of salt. His flag is Yankee, he has ownned a 1999 Intrepid ES 1991 Acura Legend Sedan LS 1991 Dodge Spirit 1990 Aerostar 4wd. His post sounds like someone who has a bias.
Well, I alternately (when they let me) drive my wife's 1999 ES and my daughter's Acura Legend LS. I try to compare them, although they were built 7 years apart. I think that Chrysler must have taken a Legend apart to see how the Japanese did it when they designed the LH cars. The similarities are striking. Similar engine position (north-south, not east-west as in so many FWD cars), 3.2 liter ... Read More
I'm new at this so be patient. My 1999 Intrepid left interior push light bulb has blown. Does anyone know if this is a big deal to replace? Will Dodge try to rip me off to replace the bulb?
